Advantages: Embarrassing moments are hilarious - I treasure them
Disadvantages: I may need to go into therapy before I reach the age of 30..
If you looked up the word 'clumsy' in the dictionary, there would undoubtedly be a picture of me underneath it. I'm the girl that walks into things, falls over, gets my foot stuck in potholes, throws soup over people - the lot. I've therefore developed a loving relationship with embarrassing moments, as I love laughing at those that happen to myself, as well as those that happen to other people. I've written about a few of my favourites below.
My dad went out on a team bonding activity with people from work. They'd all been out for a few beers and he decided he'd show them all a thing or two by jumping over a bollard (as he had done many times as a child). Unfortunately, he misjudged it slightly on his approach and landed on his face... he was fine apart from being completely grazed and my mum had to go and collect the 40 year old man up because he couldn't be trusted to look after himself!
At school my friend and I were walking along the street. She was making major eye contact with this boy she fancied on the opposite side of the road. All was going well, but as she was paying no attention to where she was going she managed to walk straight into a hanging basket! Haha that was brilliant.
My other friend was getting on a train when she slipped and got her leg stuck in 'the gap' between the platform and the train...
Recently on a trip to the Lake District my friends all sat looking at the beach, but I decided I would go for a walk as I wanted to 'be more active'. After a while the sand slowly started to turn into mud, but I ignored it and persevered through as I wanted to get to the sea. After about ten minutes I started getting into some really thick mud. I decided to turn back as it was starting to make walking difficult. I tried to walk along to a footpath at the side, but all of a sudden, the mud got really thick and I couldn't life my leg out! I tried to stand on one foot but this meant the foot in the mud sunk faster and when I tried to rescue it with the other foot, that wouldn't budge either: I was stuck in the mud! I called my friends on the phone to get assistance - but instead of helping me, they decided to instead film me and create videos of me flailing my arms about like a loony! As I tried to get free, I covered myself more and more in mud, and it's all on video and it was just excruciatingly mortifying. Fortunately I was able to eventually get my boots off, but I then had to run through the rest of the mud in just my socks. My trousers were destroyed. I had to walk back to the car looking like some sort of swamp monster. So embarrassing!
Summary: If your friend is in quick sand esque mud, don't stop to film it!
