A couple of weeks ago one of our bosses saw a tv programme called the naked office. In the programme an advertising agency that was struggling to meet targets called in a guru to help them work together better.

His idea was that they should remove boundaries between them by coming to work naked.

I didn't see the programme myself but according to my boss (who may or may not just be a pervert) the plan worked and their business improved.

Our boss announced in a team briefing that he wanted us to try the same thing and to spur us on and convince us that there was nothing to fear he stripped down to his underwear. He said he wasn't going nude in the meeting as he knew that some people would find it shocking as they hadn't been forewarned but that he was expecting everyone to attend work in a state of undress on Monday of this week (yesterday).

In the office there are 16 men & 15 women with ages ranging from 19 to 61. Initially the response from many was negative but through workshops, discussions an promises that the office curtains would be kept closed about half of the staff came round to the idea. 6 people proceeded to book the day off as leave and at least one of these has promised to complain to the union.

Out of the 25 who said they were willing to give it a go 14 were women and 11 were men. Suprisingly it seemed to be the men who were less willing to flash the flesh but perhaps that's because men would be more likely to be ridiculed. In our society a naked man is viewed as funny & women as creatures of beauty.

Everyone who agreed to go au natural signed an agreement and it was decided that (to avoid too much ambarrassment and / or possible arrest) staff would come to work clothed and only once all had arrived would they undress in the toilets.

At approx 9:15 yesterday I & 10 other men proceeded to the office toilets where we all stripped off. There was a suprising lack of fear or embarrassment and we then trooped back to the office, many of us holding our clothes in front of us to protect our modesty.

The ladies had stayed behind and changed in the office, or so we thought, but as we opened the door we found the office to be empty.

That's when the fire alarm went off and it transpired that the (female) health & safety officer had deemed it necessary to have a drill on this very day.

Not knowing for certain if it was a drill or not 11 naked men tried to struggle into their clothes and dash out of the building, caught on CCTV for posterity.

I can't say much more as there will no doubt be tribunals but would say if anyone in your office suggests a 'naked day' say no.

Summary: Clearly a ficticious review but those who don't read it all the way will probably say VU
