I will only use Motorway Service Stations between about 10pm and 9am, when little else is available. I have found, with the sole exception of Marks & Spencers, that everything is a ridiculous price and the service so impersonal. Rather than use motorway services, I prefer to spend a few mins planning my stops. I google 'eat just off the ... Read the complete review

As someone who travels the roads of Britain regularly I have visited a lot of service stations all over England. The one thing that I find annoying about service stations are the prices that they get away with charging. In a lot of the service stations now you have take away outlets such as Burger King, Wimpey and KFC, however they all charge ... Read the complete review

As a regular traveller, motorway services can be a haven on any long journey. The advantages are plain to see. Parking is free, toilets are free, you can stretch your legs and grab something to eat and drink. Nowadays, you can also test your skills in the amusement arcade, buy an ice-scraper from Halfords or sit in the ubiquitous "massage ... Read the complete review

Motorway services are provided for drivers and passengers travelling up and down the country. They are quite expensive but I'm sure we have all used them at one time or another. Petrol now that is something I never buy for the simple reason it would cost a fortune to fill up the tank so I plan my journey and make sure that I ... Read the complete review

I would like to say a big thank you to the staff at the Wimpy bar for attending to our party of 20 children from Chernobyl, and 5 adults travelling from Heathrow Airport to Lancashire on Sunday 13th May. They dealt with our order very quickly, quietly and proffessionally without any detrement to to their other customers. They were very friendly and helpful and deserve a big pat on the back. Thank you very much.

I find this review interesting. Ive been research into service stations and have been in contact with two main forviders wihin England. Im a third year radio student at the university of lincoln and Im interested in making a radio feature about the issue of service stations being overpirced. I thought I'd share with you the little treasure I discovered called 'Fill Up For Less'. At only £5 it provides a handy guide to alternative food and fuel stops close to the Motorway. For example, did you know that there is a Tesco Superstore no more than 200yards off junction 4 of the M42. Well neither did I till I used this ... Read the complete review

The sight of a motorway service station, just up ahead, can be very welcome for many motorists and their passengers. It is the chance to take a quick break from the road and driving. The opportunity just to catch a few minutes fresh and have a quick stretch of the legs before setting off again to complete the journey. They can be very ... Read the complete review

Having just returned to the Midlands from Sheffield I though I would review motorway services while the experience is fresh in my mind. In their favour, motorway services provide handy toilet stops at regular intervals (unless you are between Oxford and London and plan to go round the M25 anti-clockwise). In addition, they are a good ... Read the complete review

I love motorway service stations probably more than I should. I've travelled far and wide in my time and I've seen many storms. I have closely monitored the improvement of the services over the years. The choices these days are endless! You can lay your hands on everything that you may need, be it Cliff Richards Greatest Hits on cassette ... Read the complete review

There is a lot to be said about motorway service areas (some good, most bad) but I feel some special credit should be given to the Road Chef Norton Canes on the new M6 Toll road. Road Chef Norton Canes is situated between junctions six and seven of the M6 Toll road prior to the toll ... Read the complete review

Why should we part with our hard earned cash at these establishments? In my experience, the motorway services in this country are not up to the standard they should be to justify the price we pay. I wouldn't mind paying if the services were at least clean, and the buildings and area were maintained. Ok, theres always the guy at the ... Read the complete review

I drive around 45000 miles per year largely on Britains motorways and in common with most long suffering motorists find myself far too often visiting our ghastly motorway service areas. Last year we took a motoring holiday to Italy, driving through france Germany and Switzerland on the way, and the experience brought into sharp focus ... Read the complete review

Let me begin by establishing my position. I consider myself to be an average motorist and I occasionally travel on business. I have to admit the standards of motorway services (and I stress motorway services) have improved over the years however this is not really saying a lot as previously they were in a terrible state. The food that ... Read the complete review

The Motorway service station. Everybodys been there. Either hungry, tired, or just need to 'freshen up', anyone who has ever travelled along the motorway has a need to stop here. This is where their succes lies - the captive audience. Mention a motorway service station to anyone and the first that comes to mind is the cost. To my ... Read the complete review

I'm not an everyday motorway traveller. However I have been in enough of them to give my opinion of them. Motorway services are good if you are travelling on a long journey, and you need to relieve yourself, after all you can't exactly stop on the hard shoulder for a slash. Motorway services are quite expressive, they normally ... Read the complete review

I have always thought of our motorway service stations as being overexpensive in all aspects. It is understandable to a degree, bearing in mind the remoteness of these places, and having to man them 24 hours. But I do feel that the operators go too far in cashing in on this. As for standards, occasionally they make efforts - only when ... Read the complete review

Like most people I have come to accept that Motorway Service Areas are a necessary evil when you are making a long car journey. We all know that these places are usually uninviting and expensive, but there is little choice when you are making a motorway trip. We were therefore very pleasantly surprised when we stopped at the ... Read the complete review

After an early start today (5am), because of family commitments, we had no kids for the day, and decided to take a ride to Kent (from Swansea) to visit my sister-in-law. En-route, we decided to stop off for something to eat, but the Little Chef's do not open until 7am. After some ill-informed advice from my other half, which left us in the ...
