Music Videos in General

A good music video is a must for all serious music artists and since Michael Jacksons Thriller video have been the making and breaking of many pop stars and bands. MTV was the first channel dedicated solely to music and it was due to its increasing popularity in the eighties and nineties that we today see a plethora of music channels. I believe a music video is extremely important for an artist to get right as if they do so they can draw people who would not necessarily have listened to their songs to sit and hear them. It seems like ages since I last watched MTV however I got to thinking about some of the great music videos that have been released over the years in the light of the announcement today by Michael Jackson of a series of concerts this summer at the O2 arena. Backstreet Boys , you eigther love them or you hate them .... Their new video for shape of my heart sees the Backstreet Boys auditioning in a theatre ... Singing out heir golden hearts ... Not exactly as brilliant as Everybody ( Backstreet Back ) or Larger Than Life .. where even if you're not a fan you will know are classic videos ! But I think it's a nice idea .. Hummmm .. ok this is my opinion on music video's! i think that the video makes the song his is because if u have a male watching and u stick loads of females on the video then what will happen? ill tell u wht, the male will watch and then what u find happens is after a while of watching, saay 5 times the song grows on u and u buy it! so its the video that pulls u in and allows the song to influence u! thats my opinion. do u agree with what i just sead? ...  Read the complete review

KOrn. Underestimated, disliked and hated by some but no matter what your musical taste, the Freak on a Leash video has to be appreciated by everyone lucky enough to have witnessed it. The video is set in two parralles that echo the twisted nature of both Korn aS a band and the music that they play. The freaky music intro comes to life by the Korn cartoons present on the freak on a leash album. First impressions of a tacky chinese anime video are brushed aside when the hardcore nature of the video kicks in and the camera follows the motion of a bullet(which came from the cartoon world) and the destruction it causes in dramatic slow motion.
