Advantages: Forgot to mention, I love...
Disadvantages: Bach, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven
There should be a word stronger than 'love' when it comes to me & my music. Let's just put it, that it's something I cannot live without.
I often say, 'I dream in Classical, and I live in rap'. It's a funny combination, and many frown at me, even my parents but that's how it's always been. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those who likes 'all kinds of music'. I really don't. What I especially hate, is drumming & guitars in the Church.
Started learning the piano at 8, well more like forced to, then stopped for a year, then took it again. Needless to say, I'm glad I was forced at one time, and carried on because I'm married to the piano. I'm yet to own a Steinway & Sons though!
Rap is the other side. I love it, the whole flow, the whole play on words, the beat and the background. I know the 'general public' don't really think much of music, and that it does promote violence and uses explicit language etc etc, but that's how it is for me. I rap and write too.
I could actually go on about music, but I think I'll just do that 'questions & answer' thing like other people here has done.
1) Favorite last dance smoochie
Anything hip hop or rap. R&B is good too. Right now, I would say 'Miss Independent' by Ne-Yo, or 'Love In This Club' by Usher, feat. Young Jeezy. They're so popular they may as well be pop, but that's what I would dance if I ever had to - I normally don't dance.
2) Best cover version
TO be honest, I haven't heard much about cover songs, so I can't really say... but there are many 'underground' artists I've come to like on YouTube, and there's one girl by the name "hchsknights08" and she does few covers, and I loved her version of 'Take A Bow' originally by Rihanna.
3) Worst cover version.
Like I said, I don't know many covers, but if I could name the worst song, sorry the worst artist I've ever come across, is Soulja Boy Tell'em, and his single 'Crank That' which was No.1 hit for 7 weeks I think. I really cannot say much as I could fill more than the premium review word limit to diss and spit foul words at his music!
4) Best Male Vocal
This has to be 'Kim Tae Woo' who is a Korean singer. I don't suppose many of the readers would know about him, or at all. But there it is.
5) Best Female Vocal.
I always said Christina Aguilera, but now, it has to be Rihanna. Oh that girl just makes me melt.
6) Best Duo + / Group
Not really into groups, but if I had to pick one, I would say 'Fort Minor', led by Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park. Linkin Park is great too. For a duo, I would say Usher and R. Kelly, from the song 'Same Girl'.
7) Most memorable Song.
She Falls Asleep Part 2, by McFly. I still laugh at this, it's not the kind of music I listen to normally, or at all in fact. But this track was on a compilation CD my girlfriend had, and it so happened to be the ONLY CD she had in the car, and we just listened to it over and over again! Brings back alot of memories.
8) Your Song.
My song? Or My favourite song? *LOL* My song would be 'Ready For War' by 50 Cent, which is an instrumental. That's my Theme song. My favourite song all time, has to be 'When I'm Gone' by Eminem. Or 'The Point of No Return' by Immortal Technique.
9) Best Female Vocal Performance
Rihanna's Umbrella. I haven't actually been to one, but she looked so stunning.
10) Best Male Vocal Performance
The Anger management tour, I would have loved it most.
12) All Time Favorite Album
Not really an album guy, but if I had to pick one I would pick Craig David's 'Born To Do It'. I love most songs in that.
13) Best Music Video
There are so many that I like, but but but, I would say Rhianna's 'Take A Bow'. Couldn't stop watching that.
14) Best Act Ever
Eminem. He does it from the heart.
15) Best TV / Film musical piece
This one's pretty easy, though there are many I like. I would go straight to Han Zimmer's soundtrack for 'Pearl Harbor'. I was in love with that for many many days.
16) Best personal computer ( any ) music software.
Sibelius. Expensive, (or not) but that's the ultimate program for composing music, and then playing it back. I used it for my GCSEs and A-Levels, and even gave few copies to the teachers!
805 words so far, gosh I've written far too much! This will be a definite bore... too bad.
Summary: I dream in Classical, and I live in Rap.
