I decided to have a flick through the discussion board and was suprised to find that this topic hadn't been covered so I thought I'd kick us off.
My Perfect Weekend
Well To be honest I think I lived my perfect weekend the one before last. I was in London visiting my partner and got to see it from the best of both worlds, tourist and inhabitant. My partner is in the household cavlary so of course I got to go and have a little sneaky look around which was impressive, even though I didnt look very happy (I had been walking none stop for hours with sore feet so you can't really blame me). I also got to do pretty much everything I'd planned from the Tower of London, Hampton Court, British Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Harrods to just chilling in the hotel room with my partner and spending an amazing weekend with him. He even took me to watch Alice in Wonderland at Odeon Leicester Square on its opening evening knowing how badly I wanted to see it.
**would I change it**
I would have possibly given us abit more time to go around the natural history museum aswell because although my partner lives in London he didnt even know there was dinosaurs in the natural history museum which slightly shocked me. I would have also booked a hotel closer to everything as we ended up staying in heathrow because it was a pretty late booking.
** Fantasy weekend**
Hmm This is quite difficult because theres so many I can choose from so I might just give you my top 3.
Over rated I know but I love France and as I can speak French relatively well I would like to show off this skill at some point. My partner has other ideas and hes a typical Brit, France is for invading not for visiting. (Maybe I'll just go alone). I would travel to the top of the Eiffel Tower as I have only ever been 1/3 of the way up and I would have to visit the Moulin Rouge now that I'm old enough to get through the doors. Last time I visted Paris was with a school trip but theres too much to do that a school just won't let you. I would also have to take a river trip and visit Notre Dame.
Italy calls to me. Beautiful sights, food and history. What more could you want? I would love to visit Rome even just for a weekend as i have always believed it is one of the most amazing cities in the world. Of course I would have to visit the colusseum and fountain but I would also make my way to Vatican City. I am an Arminian Christian meaning I have more Catholic Sympathies than Anglican so I would have to visit the Holy city and maybe just maybe catch a glance of the Holy Father himself.
Luckily enough I'm getting to do this one in a fortnights time !!! =D
My partner is taking me away from my birthday and this was my choice. Neuschwangstein for those who don't know is one of the most spectacular castles in the world. situated in bavaria in germany the castle is the basis of the sleeping beauty castles in the disneyland theme parks and is also the castle used in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. A beautiful location and as my family lived in Germany for a long period of time I love everything about the country so why not visit its most prestigious sight.
