Advantages: Good range of beauty products

Disadvantages: Some are slightly expensive

I love buying beauty products and I always have huge stashes of them in my bathroom, most of which have never been used! Here is my review of my top ten products – the ones I use regularly – and why I like them so much….

1. Vaseline

This is my number one beauty product, it’s cheap, it’s versatile and it gives great results. I mainly use Vaseline on my lips as a lip balm, but it can also be used (sparingly) on cheeks to highlight, on eyes, lashes or a little bit over brows to keep them tamed. I usually buy the small pots of Vaseline – these are labelled ‘lip therapy’ but are just plain petroleum jelly, so can still be used for other things, they usually only cost around 99p and I always keep some in my bag.

2. Charles Worthington Hair Serum

I’ve used most of the hair serums from the Charle’s Worthington range and find them all fantastic. I’m currently using Charles Worthington Q&A and it’s really good. Serum is basically a product, which when smoothed over hair tames frizz and gives a glossy sheen. The ones from this range cost around £5.99, which may seem on the expensive side, but you only need to use a few drops at a time, so a bottle will last you ages and works out cost effective.

3. Boots Hair Science Intensive Conditioner

I’ve tried several intensive conditioners in my time, but this is the one I always come back to. This is a deep conditioner, which really penetrates the hair and leaves it looking shiny and feeling soft. Not only that but it only costs £2.49 a tube, so is a real bargain.

4. No.7 Soft and Soothed Gentle Cleanser

Everyone needs a good cleanser to get rid of the build up of dirt and make-up that can clog the skins pores, causing greasiness and spots. My favourite cleanser at the moment is No.7 soft and soothed gentle cleanser, which is applied to the skin and then washed off to reveal smooth and soft skin. It costs £6.50 which again, is on the pricey side, but Boots often have offers on the No.7 range, so even if it is over your budget, it’s worth keeping in mind.

5. No.7 eye shadow

This has got to be the best eye shadow I have used in terms of finished look and staying power. Again it’s not one of the cheapest at £6.50 for a single shadow or £8.50 for a triple shadow, but like they say ‘you get what you pay for’ and with this you get a velvety effect, which lasts for hours and doesn’t crease.

6. Max Factor Lash Lift Mascara

Every girl needs mascara! My favourite mascara so far has got to be Max Factor Lash Lift for a natural, no-clumpy effect and intense colour. It costs around £7.99 a tube, but is the best one I’ve used – and trust me I’ve tried my fair share!

7. Evian Affinity moisturiser

A good moisturiser should keep the skin feeling hydrated, have a sun protection factor and provide a good non-greasy base for make-up. This moisturiser does all of those things. With SPF15, the cream sinks in easily, isn’t too heavy, and doesn’t leave the skin with that horrible sticky feeling some other brands can leave. This costs around £5.99 in Boots, but shop around because I once saw it in Home Bargains for a fantastic £1.99!

8. No.7 speed dry nail varnish

I always have my toenails painted, whether they are on show or not. The best nail varnish I have come across is No.7 speed dry. The No.7 speed dry colour range is fairly limited –especially in comparison to No.7’s stay perfect nail varnish, but the results are so much more professional. It is definitely worth the £6 price tag.

9. Metal Eyelash Curlers

One thing I always have in my make-up bag is eyelash curlers. I don’t think it matters which brand you buy, as long as they are metal – the plastic ones have a tendancy to break. Even if you’re not wearing any make-up, curling your eyelashes can make a huge difference to the way you look, and really make your eyes stand out.

10. No.7 Radiance Revealed Exfoliator

Another No.7 product I use regularly is Radiance revealed exfoliator. This product contains small granules to slough away the dead skin cells on your face and reveal brighter skin underneath. I use this at least once a week, and not only does it make my skin look brighter, but it feels really soft and smooth too.

So there you go, that was my top ten! I didn’t realise how many No7 products I actually use until I wrote this!
