Advantages: Not too expensive and all work great!
Disadvantages: Have to try and stop myself from buying more than I can use up
I haven't written one of these Top 10 reviews before, but I just so happened to stumble across this topic in the discussion area and thought it would be fun to have a go and actually think about what beauty products I use and rate highly (and what products I hardly ever use and not rate so highly so therefore I should be able to make better informed decisions and not waste my money...)
So on with the show....
1. Nivea Visage Rich Daily Moisture Cream – This is by far the best facial moisturizer I have used to date. It leaves my skin looking healthy and feeling soft. For £4.78, it is a wee bit expensive but worth it! (Full review available on my page)
2. Mask of Magnaminty – Made by Lush, this is a great face mask and scrub and really cleanses deep down. Made with peppermint oil and aduki beans, it works fantastically to clean and it’s shelf life is 3 months, so that’s pretty good! I try and use this twice a week. (Full review available on my page)
3. L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation – Something which is an absolute gem and is flawless! I use this as a base when applying make up and also as a concealer. It works best as a base when I mix a small amount with the Nivea Visage Rich Daily Moisture Cream. At the moment it’s £8.99 in Boots for 30ml. What I like about it is that you don’t have to use much for a good effect and the cover is fantastic
4. Avon True Colour Blush – I’ve recently become quite fond of Avon make-up. It does the same job as the expensive makeup you find at counters, but costs far less! This blush comes in a small compact with a small brush for application. There are four shades in the range and I currently use Rose Lustre, which suits my skin tone perfectly (I have a light olive complexion). They are normally £5 each, but at the moment Avon have an offer on where you can buy 2 for £8.
5. Eyelash curlers – I don’t use these every single day but they do make a difference when my eyelashes need that extra bit of ‘oomph’ before I apply any mascara. The ones I have at the moment are silver (coloured not solid!) and work very well! You can get eyelash curlers from pretty much anywhere like Boots, Superdrug or any chemist.
6. Tweezers – Another must-have. We women need these little things to keep our brows nice and neat! If I must be honest if I lost these I would be panicking…. Plus it saves on going to get your eyebrows waxed! No I haven’t done it, and yes you can get it done, but there’s no way I’m going to have my face ripped off.
7. Avon Precision Glimmer Eyeshadow – Another Avon product here and one that works quite well and comes in a lovely range of shades. At the moment I have tried Limestone (a medium leafy green), Peachy Pink (more peach/gold coloured than pink) and Powder Pink. They don’t come as a compacted powder, but a loose powder with a screwtop/applicator. It gives a nice shimmery effect and they’re not too expensive! At the moment Avon have an offer where they are now £3.50 instead of the normal price of £5 each. (full review available on my page)
8. Avon Color Trend Plump Out The Volume Mascara – Are you seeing a slight pattern emerging? This is yet another Avon make-up product which I love to bits. I use this mascara all the time, it’s not too thick, doesn’t clump and the brush is very nice and light. At the moment I use Brown/Black as Black is far too dark for me (as I have already experienced). The cost of these is pretty good at £4 a tube.
9. Avon Color Trend Pencil Play – This Avon product is an eyeliner. I find this very handy for when I’m out and about just to add a bit of definition and it doesn’t smudge or blot easily. This is what I like about it. These come in 5 shades, of Black, Dark Brown, Turquoise, White and Green and are £2.50 each. They last for quite a long time too!
10. Secret Possessions Lip Gloss – Last but not least…. I got this as part of a gift set and was very impressed with this lip gloss. It’s not thick and gloopy like some, but very sleek and easy to apply. It is also one of a very few lip colours that suit me. Red and I look like a tart, light pink and I look like a ghost, but this is just right!
So there you have it, my top 10 beauty products and I must say I’ve enjoyed making up my top 10 list and compiling it for you all. Hope you can find some use from it!
