Advantages: I like them all
Disadvantages: None
I have read a good few top 10 beauty product reviews. I must say a lot have been very helpful. By reading these reviews I have actually gone out and tried new products that I hadn't thought of trying before.
So here we have it, my favourite top 10 beauty products that I couldn't live without at the moment.
1) original lipsyl:
Lipsyl has been around for years and even thought different balms and salves have come out this is still my favourite. My lips can get very dry especially in the winter, so I use this product every day. It immediately smoothes the lips and stops any soreness from the cold weather. Lipsyl comes in a small hard plastic tube with a twist bottom to dispense. Only a small amount is needed. The lipsyl its self is white in colour although when applied it is almost colourless. It has mild yet pleasant talcum smell. And the constituency is fairly heavy. You can wear this lipsyl under lipstick too for extra moisturisation. The lipsyl is a bargain at about £1.00.
2) Rimmel recover foundation:
I have already separately reviewed this product a while ago now. I use this foundation every day. I love the way that it makes the face look so illuminated. With foundations in the past I have had to use concealers to disguise them nasty dark eyes. With this one the coverage is great and completely conceals under eye circles, meaning no concealer necessary. The product is about £6.50 to buy (depending on where you shop). I think this is a bargain considering you are saving money on buying a concealer.
3) Max factor crème puff:
I have also reviewed this product in the past. I must admit I don't use this powder every day as the rimmel recover has great coverage there is no real need for it. I do use it when I am going on a night out. I only purchase the transparent tone as I feel the coloured ones can be a bit heavy. The transparent adds a lovely finish and sets the foundation great. The powder is fine and applies and blends very easy. It has a slight perfumed smell that tends to put people off but I don't mind it at all. Infact it It is quite pleasant when you get used to it. You can also use the powder as a foundation too. This product cost around £6.00 now I think and it is definitely worth the money.
4) Olay moisturising foam bath:
I received this as part of a gift set around Christmas time and I absolutely love it. It has the typical light and fresh Olay scent and this one is especially for dry skin. The liquid is thick and created lots of bubbles as soon as it hit the water meaning a little goes a long way. I really enjoy the fresh scent and it makes me feel very relaxed. After the bath my skin feels so soft as if it has already been moisturised. I can't comment on the price as it was given as a gift, but I will definitely be buying this when this one runs out.
5) Goldwell LC2 conditioning treatment:
I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't heard of this product before, as I hadn't until I walked into my local chemist and seen it reduced to 50 pence. Generally my chemist doesn't sell this product and won't be selling it in the near future. I wasn't happy to hear this as after trying the conditioner I knew it was the best one I have ever used. The treatment comes in a light blue squeeze bottle that looks quite professional. I would expect this from a make such as Goldwell. The treatment has been developed to maintain condition and vibrancy for coloured hair. It is advised that it will work from the inside of the hair shaft to repair and moisturise porous hair. I used this product as advised by the instructions (after shampooing hair, apply treatment and leave to process before rinsing). I left to process for around 5 minutes. I immediately felt my hair was smoother and the brush slid through with no problems.
After drying my hair it looked shinier and healthier after just one application. I have tried to search the Internet to get a price or available store to purchase this item but I have came back with nothing. I can only hope that this is due to the product in question being changed. I will edit this review if I manage to find out.
6) Ghd replenishing shampoo:
This shampoo is created especially for course dry hair. It is intended to create a base for heat styling, meaning it will moisturise with added heat protectors. This shampoo is a bit pricey at nearly £10 per 250ml bottle but it is an essential for me. The shampoo is very thick and again a little goes a long way so only a little touch develops a huge lather. It has a very sweet smell almost sickly in a nice way. The ghd range is very professional and you definitely get good value for money with this product. The shampoo is supposed to work in stages when combined with other ghd products such as the conditioner and the straightening balm. I must admit I have tried the conditioner and I just don't like it, it is very thin and doesn't seem to detangle the hair at all.
7) ghd remedy cream:
Also one of the stages in conjunction with the replenishing shampoo. The remedy cream is actually a daily leave in treatment. It is used on damp hair after shampooing and conditioning. The added ingredients such as panthenol and polymers create a protective barrier on the hair as well as working to repair and moisturise. The cream adds a gloss to the hair to create shine. The cream is quite thin and it doesn't feel greasy at all. It is Very light so it won't weight the hair down. I felt that the cream coated split ends perfectly so after straightening, my hair felt so soft and looks so healthy. This product costs £12 for a 150ml-size bottle. Again this is pricey but definitely worth the money.
8) Olay body wash plus cream ribbons:
This product was also given to me as part of a gift (the same gift pack as the bath foam actually). Again I can't really comment on prices. The bottle is clear so you can see the shower cream through it. It looks good as you can see the coloured cream with ribbons of white flowing through. The cream that I have is the pink one with almond extract. The cream is very thick and almost gloopy but it is very luxurious. The bottle advises that skin will appear softer in just 7 days. I disagree with this as I felt my skin was a lot softer after the first wash. The scent is lovely and floral but not too strong. This is definitely the best body wash I have ever tested. I will advise that after you have used this in the bath, you have to wash the bath out more or less straight away, as it will still stay lying in the bottom.
9) Davidoff cool water for woman.
This is the perfume that I am wearing at the moment, although there are a lot of scents that I actually like. This is one of my favourites I think it can be worn as a daytime scent or a little more can be applied for the evening. The scent is a blend of citrus, pineapple, and woody notes. I wouldn't say it was fruity though and definitely not sickly. It is quite feminine. The scent is quite strong and only a little is needed. It lasts very well and I can even still smell it at the end of the day on my clothes so there is no need for re applying. The perfume can be bought in many different sizes, prices ranging from £25 - £50.
10) ghd indulgence treatment:
This product is designed to be used once a week. You get 7, 10ml tubes which will obviously last 7 weeks. It has been developed to strengthen, moisturise and gloss the hair making it appear in better condition. Using 1 tube at a time you have to apply to clean towel dried hair, cover the whole hair and massage in. Leave for 5 -15 minutes. I always leave for the full 15 minutes to ensure better results. You can use heat to intensify the treatment if you want to with a quick blast of a hair dryer but I don't think it makes any difference to the after effect. The formula is quite thick and luxurious and smells the same as the shampoo, sweet and nicely sickly. The treatments cost £15 for a 7-week course. Again with all ghd products this is quite expensive. But worth the money.
That brings me to the end of my review. The above are beauty products that I have tested and loved. I hope it inspires some people to try some of the listed.
