Happy New Year everyone. Here I am, sitting at work on the first day of the year - how sad considering this is a choice I made to work, but the extra money was too much a lure to turn down. So what is my New Years resolution? Here goes

1. TO LOSE WEIGHT

Probably a popular one this, but I had started to lose weight last year but have put a bit on again. I had lost 2 1/2 stone, but then there came a point where people weren't supporting me. I know I should be the one to keep myself on track, but there was a lot of family meals out going on around the time I put a bit weight back on and before I knew it we were into november, I was working more, reaching for the convenience foods and getting takeaways for tea. So I have ended up putting a stone back on, so i've still kept 1 and a half stone off, but this year I want to lose more and keep it off. I've bought a new stepper in the sales, so am trying to combine exercise with healthy eating. I'm not the most active person, but I don't mind going on a nice walk with my mp3 player for company.

2. TO WORK MORE, TO WORK LESS

Strange title. Since I came to my current employer Sky Television I have worked extremely hard. I was on slightly less money here when I started but due to a few good pay rises I climbed in money quite quickly. When I was out of my probation period I was allowed to work overtime and since April 2006 I have worked overtime quite a bit. Having said that since April 2006 I have never had a basic wage, i've had some overtime on every pay. The reason I done it was obviously for the money and i've worked hard to pay off my credit cards amd pther debts that I built up. Now I only have the 1 card to get rid of and as I said in my previous review I think this card will be paid off around April, so I may try to scale down the working overtime working, as although I want to save up to go to New York in 2010, I could do with a break from working. I work 37.5 hours a week at work as my standard working week and I often work 10 hours overtime a week and I feel like i'm always here! So I will try to keep working quite a lot perhaps up until may/june and then scale it down and perhaps just work the odd sunday on overtime.

3. TO SEE MORE OF MY SCENARY

I haven't travelled much in Scotland and I do prefer to go abroad for a hoilday, perhaps to get some heat, as it is always so cold here! I've been to Glasgow, Edinburgh, St Andrews and so on, but never went to places such as Aberdeen, Pitlochry, Loch Lomand and so on, so I should get out there and look around my country!

4. TO BE AROUND MORE AND HANG OUT WITH MY HUBBY

Another odd one. I get a bit grief off my husband now and again, more so because I always work and he struggles with this a bit. In his job there isn't really overtime and when there is then he has to work the full weekend for overtime. He works monday to friday in quite a physical job, so to work the whole weekend and then monday to friday again means that he works for 12 straight days. I don't think that's a fair system but I don't make the rules. However I can pick and choose when to work and my company insists we either have 1 day off a weeks or 2 days off in 14 days worked, so I get made to have a break. Also I work indoors in the warmth and he is out in the cold. He thinks that people will talk about me working and him not going out to do overtime and he says it should be the man that goes out, but in this day and age I think that is a pretty old fashioned view. I like to work and it is easier for me to get the work, so again when I scale my work down, then he will see me more. After all i'm doing it for the sake of us and our money issues, so he should understand that!

I thought i'd have more resolutions than this, but all I could think of. Hopefully I will sort this all out

Thanks for the read/rate
