Advantages: I set them knowing I will fail therefore achieving one is mega kudos for me

Disadvantages: I fail most of them

Every year I set resolutions knowing very well that I'm never going to keep them but every year I keep a faint glimmer of hope just incase a miracle happens and I get the will power to actually keeps some of them. I don't think I've kept many of them so far this year but here goes:

1. To lose 2 stone so that I look gorgeous for my 17th birthday party in May, its about 2 months away now, its not going to happen.

2. To go salsa dancing- nice but to be honest, where am I going to find the time? where am I going to find the money? would I have the confidence to go into a room full o people and attempt to learn to dance without falling flat on my face? I think not.

3. To actually save some money for driving lessons and university- My savings account interst rate is 0.5%, the possibility of me getting a new job withinj the next two years is low, I currently being paid £7 a week. Hello student loan and large amount of debt, welcome to my humble abode.

4. To go jogging every day- I have neither the time nor the will power. Fail.

5. To spend more time with the family- acheived. I now have no money to go out therefore spend most of my hours with the family either playing the noddy theme on Youtube for my youngest brother continually for 2 hours or going on family outings to Asda, playing the wii with the family, watching TV with the familyand having family meals.

6. To go to a gig with my friends- Again a money issue aswell as a trust issue in that I don't trust them not to leave me alone at this gig with the response of 'your not a child, and I'm not your minder' - they knows full well people break bones and even die at these things lol.

7. To stay in a hotel anywhere without parental supervision- The lack of money and lack of interest from friends means it would be pointless lol.

8. To buy my mum flowers every other friday to remind her how much I appreciate her- no money and nobody with decent flowers i could pick while there not looking round our way = mega fail.

9. To learn a foreign language that has another alphabet aswell, I plan to do this soon via babel fish (I figured it was the cheapest way to do it :D), I plan to learn either Russian, Cypriot Greek or Arabic because I like to know that I can communicate with more people than just english people and get to know other cultures better. I know the french barely forgive me for my lack of knowledge of the French language wen I go to France, I can see why though lol.

10. To educate my youngest brother into a child genius = acheivement, not solely due to me, I think nursery was definitely beneficial for this particular kid because at 2 he already speaks in almost full sentences and knows numbers, can repeat anything you say instantly, and can put his own shoes and coat on. I think, my friend, that is cool.

Summary: fun to set but not always achievable

Definitely go to a gig: you'll love it. and if u lose your friends, it doesnt matter, just make sure u have a meeting place for afterwards!
and i'm sure you don't need to lose 2 stone!

Hun, you don't need to lose 2 stone. You're gorgeous as you are. I can live without the flowers too but it's fabby that you had the thought. And it's true, you're a fab big sis (if a little scary sometimes!) xxx
