New Year's Resolutions
Advantages: good for me
Disadvantages: chance of not sticking to them
We are 3 days into 2013 and I have set myself two main goals to accomplish by the end of the year. I generally don't really see the point of New Year's Resolutions because I think it's good to be already in the habit of achieving goals that you set for yourself and new year shouldn't really be motivation for it. This year I thought I'd give it a try and see how my goals pan out.
1. Get my driving license
I have been on and off with trying to get my driving license for the past year or two and I just always ended up taking a break. I think it's mainly due to always having other things get in the way is my problem. I think also the cost of it is just expensive £20 a lesson is an extortionate being a student. I think I need to put this all aside and just spend the money and make the time and pass my test because I feel like I am getting old (eventhough I'm not) because people younger than me have already passed and have cars.
My plan for this resolution is since I already have had alot of lesson and generally know how to drive I plan on taking one two hour lesson a week starting Monday then in the college holiday in feb I plan on booking a couple lessons for that week then my test at the end of it. the thought of it sounds daunting but I think if I do it this way rather than spread it out over months I will not think of taking a break.
As for the theory part of a driving license I will be booking the test next week for the following week or soon after. I have been preparing for the test heavily over the Christmas break and feel like I am in a good position to pass first time. If not taking it in January will give me enough time to study and re-book the test with enough time to prepare for my practical.
I've thought this plan out really hard and just hope it works and well so I can say my new years resolution went to plan and it will motivate me to think they are worthy for next year.
2. Vegas baby
I always make plan holidays that I never end up going on because I always never get round to finishing planning.
I have always said that one day I would go to Vegas and I think this would be the perfect year to in the summer after finally finishing college. I got a fair bit of money over the Christmas holiday have seen good prices of around 700 pounds which is a good deal which I'm so desperate to use money I have gotten over Christmas to deposit on the holiday. I have decided that if I don't find anyone that will come by the end January that I will go on my own. Some of you reading man be thinking why would I go Vegas on my own by Vegas is a place with so much entertainment and people that are there having fun with all the casinos and clubs so I doubt that I will be short of people to enjoy myself with or get bored.
One thing I have always said to myself is if you don't do things you want to do because you need or don't have anyone to accompany you, you will never experience all you wan't to in life.
So this year definitely as one of my resolutions is to go to Vegas and have the time of my life. Plus turning 21 in the next few months so why not.
These are the two things I wish to accomplish and fingers crossed that I do :) You will all be seeing me alot more trying to save up some extra pennies for this years ventures.
