Advantages: I have a year to do it!
Disadvantages: I have a year to do it - time goes in fast!
Whilst I am aware that problems just don't go away over night just because we have entered a new year, I do consider it a fresh start in getting my life sorted for the better. I am very blessed to have a loving family and a roof over my head but some aspects of my personal life/home life that I hope will change in 2013. These are my hopes/goals.
~My Body~
I have always been big built but I didn't realise how heavy I had become until the middle of last year. I was encouraged to join Slimming World and have so far lost nearly 2 stone in 6 months. I have messed about quite a bit with it though. I would love to reach my target weight/size this year and my determination to do this is really high at the moment. I don't want my son being bullied for having a 'fat Mummy' when he starts school in August.
I have a great support network and Slimming World has encouraged me to make food from scratch and be generally more healthy. My family benefits from this too as I feel I am setting a good example with healthy, homecooked meals. I have a long way to go to reach my target but I am positive that I can do it. I can already feel myself having more energy and hope to be out walking more when the weather is better.
I will keep you all updated on my progress!
~Money~
I have never been particularly good with money but 2013 has seen the start of me planning the best way to utilise our money a bit better. We have a few small debts to still pay off and plan on doing that for the first half of 2013. I have a bit better control over where our money is going and I'm constantly looking for ways to save a little here and there. Making sure our bills and debts are taken care of will leave me feeling less stressed hopefully. I have started saving and planning for various trips and also Christmas!
~Trips~
Most years we have said we will visit certain places but I have made a resolution that 2013 will be the year! We have a holiday arranged for Blackpool and a weekend away at Thomas Land planned for this year. We are going to make the most of the Summer holidays and any school holidays including trips to Edinburgh Zoo, Dynamic Earth and various museums suitable for families.
~Our Home~
We have lived in our current home for nearly 3years and it still doesn't really feel like our home in my opinion. I would love to spend a bit more time decorating it, buying bits and pieces including a new vacuum cleaner and bed. I just want to make it nice but this takes money so will need to save up! I think the decorating will be done towards the end of 2013 and before Christmas.
~Meet Some Friends~
I don't have many friends offline - quite sad I know but it does happen in life. I'm hoping to have the opportunity to meet a few more of my online friends this year as I did last year. I also hope to make some friends are my new Slimming Class (that I start tonight) and perhaps when my son starts school. It would be nice to have someone to have lunch out with once in a while!
~Maybe A Baby?~
Not sure if this will happen but I'm hoping with me losing weight it might happen. I was very overweight when I tried to conceive my son and it took 2years but I'm hoping my body settles a little once the weight is off as we would love to be expecting (in the early stages) by the end of 2013.
~Conclusion~
2013 is going to be a big year for us. We have a lot to look forward to with my fiance turning 30 and my son starting school. It is already going it quite fast and I want to make the most of it. I hope everyone has a great 2013 and I wish you all the best.
