Advantages: You get, to live, twice

Disadvantages: You will, be missing a few bits, when you are buried or cremated

Like the famous Tesco line, we all shuffle off the mortal coil clutching our dearest belongings ... our bodies, bits and pieces.

Well, if you have any ambition to live again or to be famous or eternally thanked, do consider donating any spare bits you have for those less fortunate... I have to say before I go on that I have donated all of my body (missing bits from surgery excluded) to transplantation or experimentation. And I want a bench outside the DSS for all those poor bergers who freeze their wotsits off waiting for a pittance on the dole!

There are lieterally thousands of people dying every day (and I have met quite a few of them)who cannot find the right body part for transplantation that would save their lives. Some of these are children who have not even experienced a full life; many are teenagers or twenty-somethings who have suffered from chronic illnesses for many years. When you're dead you can live again through these people.. It may only be for five years or it may be for 40 years but you get a chance to only live twice as Mr. Bond would say.

If you are not strictly religious, or squeamish, please consider it and get a donor card form your GP, fill it in and send it off to be on the national database.... My friend is alive because somebody did this but nine of her colleages in the same ward died because there were not enough donors. Let me know your opinions if you are worried about donating your used bits and pieces. I will try to reply to all comments.

What a great idea!! I have had a "few bits" taken away, e.g. heart/lungs but I would gladly give anything that is left!!
