Newest Review: ... of his generation. With 4 generally recognised world title belts (WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF) and numerous others (IBO, WBU being the most prominant) we have multiple champions at any weight. Despite holding a WBO belt for 10 years (defeating Chris Eubank back in 1997 for the vacated title), Joe Calzaghe's defining moment came almost 9 years later (beating Jeff Lacy by a clear unanimous decision). ... more

Premium Review Other Boxers...: Undeafeated super middleweight champion of the world (692 words)

I've been interested in boxing for years, remembering it as beign one of the few things me and my dad actually connected with on, with this in mind I became more and more engrossed in watching the fights on BBC (back then BBC actually did show some boxing, both amatuer and professional). A few years later I became more engrossed with the history of boxing, and the world wide fight scene, getting into the polotics of the sport (which for many ruin the integrity it should otherwise have) and this is the reason that the following fighter has only in the last 2 or 3 years been reconised as the best in his division. A guy from Newbridge, south Wales recently won a fight for 3 ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Simply The Best!! (2951 words)

I was looking through some boxing tapes the other day when I came across one I hadn’t seen for a while- ‘Chris Eubank- Simply The Best’. I sat and watched this and it brought back a lot of memories. I really first got interested in boxing through watching Eubank fights throughout the 1990’s, so having got the tape out and reminded myself just why he was such a special addition to British boxing, I though I would write an opinion on him (please note that it will concentrate largely on Eubank the boxer). Born in on August 8th, 1966, Christopher Livingstone Eubank, lived with his family in Brighton, but as he grew older and went ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Other Boxers...: Audley Harrison..Champ? (193 words)

I am a big fan of Audely Harrison. I admired the way he crushed all opposition and looked in a league of his own in the Olympics, being worthy of the title of Olympic Champion and the gold medal. Now, our man Audley has turned professional! In his first professional fight, Audely blew away Mike Middleton, who looked like an amateur compared with Audely. It was a no win situation for Audely. If he laid him out within a round people would say "it was a miss match anyway" and if it took around five people would say "Audley is not good enough." However, Audley got the job done and has now lined up another fight against a higher class oponent to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Audley the new brit on the block?? (439 words)
by - written on 22/05/01 (Very useful, 30 readings)
Rating:

After winning his gold medal with a convincing campaign (he even managed this with a broken hand). He has now embarked on his professional career. One fight against a mediocre opponent is too soon to really see what quality the man has. But I will give my thoughts on what I hope will be a successful career, one that should result with him getting at least one professional world title belt. Height.. At 6 foot 5 inches he will tower over most opponents. Weight.. His debut at 18 stone 8 pounds, is in keeping with his height and it will give his opponents a heavy punch. Movement.. Although his debut did not last beyond the first ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Other Boxers...: Audley Harrison – potential Winner!?! (558 words)
by - written on 21/05/01 (Very useful, 349 readings)

Audley Harrison had his first professional fight on Saturday night against a no hoper from America called Mike Middleton. In case any of you do not know Audley Harrison won Gold at the Sydney Olympics last year! Audley is 29 years old and is a Heavyweight boxer. Audley beat Kazakhstans Mukhtarkhan Dildabekov in Sydney, which made him the first British Olympic Gold medallist in boxing for 32 years. I watched the Olympics very closely and saw almost every fight that Audley Harrison competed in and I must admit he looked really strong and looked to have some good potential. The most outstanding feature that stood out about him was how determined he ...  Read the complete review
