Advantages: Good viewing,excellent track
Disadvantages: High Pricing for tickets
Oulton Park is my local circuit and a circuit a visit often during the motorsport season. It is in my opinion the best circuit in the country, not facility wise but in terms of the circuit. It really has everthing from fast sweeping corners to slow tight corners it is a real drivers circuit and is a firm favourite with the drivers. Facility wise it isn`t bad but doesn`t compare with the likes of Silverstone,Brands and Donington. It has a new restaurant that has opened which is very good.Offers a wide range of food of excellent quality and a not to extorshionate price. It offers a large paddock and the garages are up to standard but not as big as the ones found at the larger tracks. It also has a newly opened Business Centre for hospitatlity at race meetings. Viewing is one of the best in the country,Cascades and Knickerbrook are the best places to view from as you can see nearly half the track and the corners are always action packed. If you want a good place at Knickerbrook on a big raceday you have to get there early though. Camping is available in the circuit itself and I believe isn`t too expensive although the ground isn`t the best for camping on but its like this at most UK circuits. Tickets are slightly expensive hear due to the fact that it is a member of the Brands Hatch Leisure Group which has expensive pricing ranges,I remember paying £12 to watch a 750 Motor Club meeting and going to Croft and paying near enough the same amount for a Powertour meeting. It also has the Nigel Mansell Racing school which offers at a reasonable price the oppurtunity to drive cars on the circuit or on the rally track there and is a good day out. I would throughly reccomend a trip to Oulton.

- 19/02/09 Oulton Park is an immense circuit! I have been many times for the Historic Gold Cup Weekend.
There is nothing quite as exciting as watching Imps, Minis, Stangs and Anglias fly round Old Hall in the wet. Nor is there something quite like watching the Bentley EXP Speed 8 monster up Clay Hill ! |
