"Lange says US threatened to kill him." That was the story from New Zealand's Independent newspapers Ltd on 27 March 2002. Former US vice-president Dan Quayle reportedly told the Australian Cabinet that David lange, New Zealand Prime Minister from 1984-89, "would have to be liquidated." Mr Lange made the claim in a television interview about the pressure put on him over New Zealand's anti-nuclear stance during his time as prime minister. "There were personal pressures," he said. "There were veiled threats. There were specific threats. There were threats made to other countries. (It) was announced to the Australian Cabinet at one stage that I would have to be liquidated." He said the announcement had been made by Mr Quayle during a visit to Australia in 1989. Asked to repeat what Mr Quayle said, Mr Lange said: "I'd have to be liquidated." Former New Zealand Labour Party president Bob Harvey suggested in 1999 that prime minister Norman Kirk had been poisoned by the CIA in 1974. Who killed Holland's Pim Fortuyn? The Guardian, 28 6 02, reported that Pim Fortuyn's successor was suspected of working for a certain intelligence service. Pim Fortuyn and his party had opposed a £135 billion US plan to build a new stealth fighter. Pim was assassinated. Pim's successor, Mat Herben, then ensured that the Pim Fortuyn List party voted for the US-led plan to build the new fighter. The vote was a relief to the US military and industrial complex. Did the US military-industrial complex benefit from the assassination of Kennedy? Does Chirac know too much about 9 11? My point is this: big business rules the world. To save democracy, we have to cut the links between big business and the politicians. No more funding by business! No more crooked businessmen in politics! (Parties should be funded by the small, fixed in size, donations of
members. That would force parties to gain more members. Labour has hardly any members left because of its sleaze and fascist foreign policy. Membership of the Labour Party costs about £18.50, but that could be increased to £100, about the same as a TV license.) Who are the biggest people in big business? They are the armaments people. But we should not forget the folks involved with oil and drugs. Ben Cohen, co-founder of Ben and Jerry's, asks: "Why does the US government want to spend $344 billion on the Pentagon, when the government spends only $42 billion on education and $26 billion on affordable housing. These would be tough questions, even if America had a serious enemy. Without one, these are devastating questions -- I want to help them find an enemy as quickly as possible." September 11 was the invention of an enemy. Let's look at pieces of the jigsaw. 1991-1997 - Major oil companies including ExxonMobil, Texaco, Unocal, BP Amoco, Shell and Enron invest billions "in cash bribing" heads of state in Kazakhstan to secure equity rights in the huge oil reserves in these regions. The oil companies further commit to future direct investments in Kazakhstan of $35 billion. Without a pipeline through Afghanistan, the oil companies have no way to recoup their investments. (Sources: "The Price of Oil" by Seymour Hersh, The New Yorker, July 9, 2001 - The Asia Times, "The Roving Eye Part I Jan. 26, 2002.) Bin Laden and Al Qaeda could provide the excuse for an invasion of Afghanistan. The U.S. Congress has documented the links of Al Qaeda to agencies of the U.S. government during the civil war in Bosnia-Herzegovina, in Kosovo and more recently in Macedonia. A few months before September 11, U.S. military advisers were mingling with Mujahideen mercenaries financed by Al Qaeda. Both groups were fighting under the auspices of the Kosovo Liberatio
n Army (KLA), within the same terrorist paramilitary formation. Summer 2001: Pakistan spy chief Chief Lt. General Mahmoud Ahmad transfers $100,000 to 9-11 Ringleader Mohamed Atta (assumed by many to be working for the CIA) 4 September: Ahmad arrives in the US on an official visit. 4-9 September: He meets his US counterparts including CIA Head George Tenet. On the morning of 9 11, financial CEOs with offices in the World Trade Center were at Offutt airbase in Omaha for a charity event hosted by Warren Buffett. Http://sanfrancisco.bizjournals.com/sanfrancisco/s tories/2002/02/04/story3.html Newsweek has learned that a group of top Pentagon officials suddenly canceled travel plans on September 10 due to security concerns. Brother Jeb activated the National Guard in Florida out of concern for law and order on September 7 by executive order. More and more news reports are showing that the US administration actually hindered investigations of bin Laden and Atta prior to 9/11. Enron, WorldCom, Haliburton... Cheney's Haliburton (he was the boss) provides support services for the military all over the world, including Afghanistan. The US has had at least four military campaigns - in Vietnam, Colombia, Kosovo and Afghanistan, where oil has been one of the factors, and oil companies among the groups urging engagement. These campaigns have led to links between the US government/CIA and powerful drug traffickers. "Partly this has been from realpolitik -- in recognition of the local power realities represented by the drug traffic. Partly it has been from the need to escape domestic political restraints: the traffickers have supplied additional financial resources needed because of US budgetary limitations, and they have also provided assets not bound (as the US is) by the rules of war. And partly it has been from a concern to manage the drug traffic itself, and ensure that it will never
fall under the control of another hostile power." Remember BCCI, the Bank of Credit and Commerce International? Drugs, guns and Iran-Contra. After the recent US intervention in Afghanistan, there is now a lot of heroin coming out of Afghanistan. Andrew Rawnsley in the Observer 17/2/02: "Over in Germany, they still haven't plumbed the bottom of the sludge of Helmut Kohl's years when millions in party donations were exchanged for government contracts... "The President of France is up to his eyebrows in high-toxin, foul-reeking merde. The charges embrace not just favours for donations, but personal bribes on top... Enron spent a measly 36 grand trying to buy its way into the British government... "On the other side of the Atlantic, millions of dollars were disgorged on not just the President, but more than 200 congressmen and senators, many of whom are now supposed to be doing the investigating of Enron. I am not even going to travel to Russia - and points east... A lot of the financing of the Thatcher-Major period by thieves and gun salesmen, and precisely what some of that cash bought, remains enveloped in mystery." In the 1980s, Mark Thatcher allegedly received commissions from defence contracts negotiated by his mother and Saudia Arabia. Jonathon Aitken ex-MP, was imprisoned when he perjured himself in an unsuccessful attempt to conceal a meeting in France with king Fahd's son. In the 'Arms to Iraq' affair, senior politicians concealed from parliament and the public, sales of armaments to Saddam Democracy? Forget it. The people in charge are the people who run such businesses as nuclear power, oil, armaments, narcotics, gambling..... The UK and USA are not democracies. The Lockerbie bomb trial acts as a signal that democracy is dead. It is deceased because of the links between corrupt politicians and corrupt businessmen. In 'Piml
ico History of the Twentieth Century', Clive Ponting, states that democracy is becoming discredited. The reality of Blair's 1997 'landslide' victory was that it represented fewer votes than John Major won in 1992. In a 1996 survey in Britain, three-quarters thought politicians were out of touch with ordinary people and would put the interests of their party above those of the nation. Blair and company do not work for us. They work for big business, particularly American big business. Of course, big business is important. Half of the 100 largest economic units in the world are countries and half are multinational companies. Annual sales of the world's top eight companies exceed the Gross Domestic Product of the fifty countries which have over half the world's population. Multinationals are powerful. They expect people like Blair to fund their factories, and threaten to move overseas if funding is not made available. Blair used to have secret dinners with Rupert Murdoch. Among Blair's first appointments was Lord Simon - chairman of BP and a director of RTZ, two of the most voracious multinational corporations in the world. BP workers in Colombia have allegedly suffered human rights violations. RTZ mines in countries run by dictatorships. Lord Simon is also a director of Grand Metropolitan/Burger King, the chain that paid an employee in Glasgow £1 for five hour's work. Murdoch's Newscorp does not pay any taxes in the UK. Thanks to the links between our politicians and big business, multinational corporations are now paying less tax than ever before, even though they control about 80% of the capital assets of the global free market. The Sunday Herald's Neil Mackay asks: "when is a warmonger not a warmonger? Answer: when he's Tony Blair. The Prime Minister is perhaps the only man on earth who could visit both India and Pakistan in January this yea
r and talk peace publicly while privately discussing how to offload fighter-bombers on the Indian air force at the same time. To cap that, a few weeks later he ordered the British High Commission in New Delhi to throw a party for UK arms salesmen in town for an arms fair... the government is pushing ahead with arms sales to either nation, including a £1 billion deal to sell more than 60 Hawk jets to India." Labour has accepted more than £12m in sponsorship for Government projects and political events from arms and defence companies since 1997, The Independent on Sunday revealed. UK arms exports are still being used by oppressive regimes such as those in Indonesia, Sierra Leone, Angola and Zimbabwe. Democracy? It has never been strong. The dodgy dealings of big business can be traced back many years. Certain Wall Street bankers backed the Bolshevik Revolution and made enormous sums from helping to develop Soviet Russia. These bankers backed Roosevelt and made huge sums from New Deal socialism. Elements of Wall Street financed German companies (affiliates and subsidiaries) which financed Hitler. It has been reported that the Rockefeller-controlled Vacuum Oil Company assisted in the creation of Bolshevik Russia, Roosevelt's New Deal and the military build-up of Nazi Germany. Certain U.S. corporations collaborated with the Nazis during WWII. After the war, many Nazi industrialists and their American collaborators maintained their wealth, thanks partly to the Dulles brothers. The Ford plant in Germany played a major role in the Nazi war effort. According to some recent texts, Ford's American factories produced weapons for the allies, while their German subsidiary manufactured troop transports, tracked vehicles, Panzer tanks, anti-tank guns and other crucial equipment for the Nazis. General Motors, which was owned by the du Pont family during the 1930's, are sa
id to have manufactured thousands of bombers for the Luftwaffe and troop transports for the Wermacht at the same time that it's American plants were producing engines for the U.S. Air Force. Their German plant reportedly built propulsion systems for Germany's deadliest bomber, the Junker 88 and motors for their new, innovative jet fighters. Seemingly they also repaired Geman trucks and converted them for alternative fuels at their facilites in Switzerland. Standard Oil are reported to have helped the Germans develop the plants and technology for the manufacture of synthetic fuels and leaded gas. Standard reportedly assisted the Germans in stockpiling $20 million worth or petrolium products in anticipation of the war. This deal was said to have been concluded with the assistance of the Wall Street investment firm Brown Brothers Harriman where the senior managing partner was George H.W. Bush's father, Prescott Bush. ITT reportedly owned significant shares of stock in several companies producing weapons for the Nazis including Focke-Wolfe which built fighter planes and bombers. American banks have also been implicated in assistance to Nazi Germany including J.P. Morgan, Guaranty Trust of New York, Bank of the City of New York, Chase National Bank and American Express According to number of recent books, President Bush's family fortune was in large part the result of collaborating with the Nazis. According to the online book, George Bush: The Unauthorized Biography, written by Webster G. Tarpley and Anton Chaitkin, George Bush senior's family "played a central role in financing and arming Adolf Hitler for his takeover of Germany; in financing and managing the buildup of Nazi war industries for the conquest of Europe and war against the U.S.A.; and in the developent of Nazi genocidal theories and racial propaganda". The authors claim that all of the Bush firms' European business d
uring that time "was organized around anti-democratic political forces." One of the most influential players in financing Hitler's war industries was said to be Brown Brothers Harriman. Prescott Bush, the current president's grandfather, was the managing director. Bush was also director of the Union Banking Corporation. The stock shares were owned by Bush, E. R.Harriman and 'three Nazi executives' including Fritz Thyssen, one of Hitler's primary financiers. The U.S. government eventually confiscated the Nazi banking operations of Union Banking Corporation in which Bush was a director under the Trading with the Enemy Act. Another 'Bush business associate' was Friedrick Flick who gave considerable financial support for the SS. Flicks's steel plants used about 48,000 slave laborers from Dachau, most of whom died. Bush and his business associates were also involved in the operation of the Hamburg-Amerika Line. It 'was later shown to be a cover for Nazi espionage, spy infiltration and propaganda activities.' The U.S. government also seized the Holland-American Trading Corporation, Seamless Steel and the Silesian-American Corporation in which Bush and his associates were involved. After World War II, many of the Wall Street people who had helped the Nazis were elevated to senior postions in the U.S. government. Many of them were able to maintain their fortunes intact after the war. Officers from the Nazi intelligence and scientific communities became U.S. allies in the Cold War against the Soviets. Now Prescott's son, former George H.W. Bush, is marketing weapons through the secretive Carlyle group, in which the bin Laden family has invested. George Bush Senior helped to arm both sides, Iran and Iraq, during their murderous war. Bush Senior arranged for the U.S. to sell millions of dollars of weapons to Saddam Hussein almost up to the time that he decided to i
nvade Iraq country during the Gulf War. His administration sold weapons to the Iranians at a time when they were declared a terrorist nation and held American citizens hostage. As an article in The Times recently pointed out, it is the US army that has trained fascists such as Manuel Noriega of Panama, Somoza of Nicaragua and Galtieri of Argentina. Find a fascist general leading death squads in Asia or South America, and you will probably find he was trained by the Americans. In 1966, Carroll Quigley, Professor of International Relations at Georgetown University, published 'Tragedy and Hope' in which he wrote: "... the powers of financial capitalism had another far reaching aim, nothing less that to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole." The powers of financial capitalism? Think of J.P. Morgan, the Rockefeller-controlled Chase Manhattan Bank, and in earlier days (before amalgamation of their Manhattan Bank with the former Chase Bank), the Warburgs. Think of the military-industrial complex. The revisionist history of Pearl Harbour, Korea, the Kennedy assasination, Vietnam, Iran-Contra, the invasion of Iraq, and September 11th, may reveal the influence of hidden forces. What do these hidden forces want? They apparently seek the acquisition of markets and economic power for a small group of giant multi-nationals under the virtual control of a few banking investment houses and controlling families. Through control of most of the media, public opinion can be manipulated by the elite. Pearl Harbor? Revisionists have claimed that Franklin D. Roosevelt and General Marshall knew of the impending Japanese attack and did nothing to warn the Pearl Harbor military authorities. Revisionist history suggests that the United States directly or indirectly armed both sides
in Korea and Vietnam. To sum up. Businesses should not be allowed to finance politicians. So long as we have links such as the Enron-Bush links or the Wall Street-Hitler links then we can expect disaster and war.
