Description: A course detailing current politics and ideologies

Newest Review: ... if I had a choice, it wouldn't be an area I'd like to delve into in my free time... So, most recently, there's that (overrated) programme called Question Time who had the BNP (I think) on there, and apparently it was really funny but I just couldn't bring myself to watch it, even though everyone was going on about it... from what I heard, the guy (Nick Griffin, was it?) kept staring at some ... more

... woman's boobs or something... Anyway, from all this hype about the BNP, I guess they're not someone to vote for when it comes to the election... I have heard of a range of parties: Labour, Conservative, Green (?), Lib Dems, BNP, but do not really ...more

Premium Review Politics: Clueless on politics (624 words)

OK, so I'm like completely clueless on politics and anything related... I don't know, I just haven't penetrated into the world of politics! I mean, I'm not COMPLETELY stupid and I DO know bits and bobs and do try to read about it (only those that interest me :P), such as our prime minister is Gordon Brown, and he's with Labour Party, right? I've heard of David Cameron and can also picture that bleached blonde guy but can't remember his name or what party he's with....but its a fragmented knowledge, bits and bobs from different areas... and for all we know, it could just be the political propaganda we get through our postbox... I guess you could call me ...  Read the complete review

The same cowardly MPs that voted to save the fox but incinerate Iraqi children are now grovelling for their jobs and wanting our sympathy, angry and embarrassed that we know what they have been up to. They have been caught with their pants around their ankles in their bedrooms with the curtains drawn, although as yet no one has a noose around their necks and an orange in their mouth. They have told it was ok to fiddle your taxes and abandon all their morals because someone on a committee said it was ok. Someone on a committee also said it was ok to bomb children in Iraq because you're not accountable and so it's not your fault. They just don't get what their job is. We ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Politics: Darling buds of dismay (1182 words)

- ‘Darling buds of dismay’ - Northern Rock fiasco Crisis! What crisis? It’s just remarkable that it was a week ago that Northern Rock was apparently in melt-down. All sorted now – Perfic! - At the time it was strange to see the savers amongst us were the elders, coach loads of them. It was obvious that they were concerned needlessly and at the time feared for there financial freedom. What seemed to highlight the crisis for me was that no-one for over 24 hours could log-in to their accounts online and use their financial freedom. They claim it to be excessive traffic to their site, but for the 5th biggest financial company in UK it is hard to believe. ...  Read the complete review

When people ask me what i do for a job it is often a conversation stopper. I mean the world of politics isnt exactly everyone's cup of tea now is it? Well it wasnt mine to be honest. I was 13 when i first became a volunteer and i spent many hour delivering leaflets, knocking on doors, stuffing envelopes, meeting MP's and the like. I did this because my friends did it! Then i went off to Uni and got involved in campus politics, which is great fun, but at the same time i was still involved with the national party and was having more and more fun as time went on. I went to Uni with the intention of going into teaching, i had always wanted to be a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Politics: How much would you want to run the country? (394 words)
by - written on 07/04/03 (Useful, 57 readings)

Have salaries in the country got out of control?? I think they have, what ever we think of them politically, the Prime Minister is not on enough money. I believe they should be the highest paid people in the country. Especially with what is going on at the moment, the decisions Tony Blair is having to make (I don't want to get into a debate on the war) but for the money he is on, it's a joke. Someone like David Beckham is getting far more for what, kicking a football around, the biggest decision he ever makes on a day to day basis is probably whether to rice krispies or cornflakes. Below are some examples of some salaries that were paid in ...  Read the complete review
