Pruning

Description: When is the best time to prune? Where should the plants be cut?

It is a very vigorous plant so can take a heavy pruning. Buddleia flowers on new wood where your buddleia is growing will determine how low you will want to prune, do you want a tall plant or a lower one? A buddleia ... more

So always up for a challenge, I thought I should expand from roses, to pruning generally. ‘Cos I know this is a subject which gives some gardeners (not just novices) nightmares. Hence this mid-January update. The original stuff on roses is still intact – at the end. I hate books on pruning. I have a pet - and probably very cynical – theory, that on the basis that big books sell for more money than ...  Read the complete review
