Advantages: Great player, Great Personality
Disadvantages: Might Retire
As many people would already know that Pat Rafetr has been one of the biggest names in tennis over the past few years. Pat was born on the 28th of December 1972 in Mount Isa, Queensland Australia. He was born into a big family with 8 other brothers and sisters so he has learnt not to be too big headed and arrogant which has done a lot to his game. Pat is 6ft 1 and 175lbs so it enables him to manouvre around the court quickly and we have seen this in the past few years with a fantastic array of diving shots that are breath taking. He turned pro in 1991when he was only 19 and at the time that was quite young and not many people would of thought that he would turn into such a talent. His highest rating was number 1 in July 1999 and this would of been one of the biggest highlights in his career. Pat has had a very long career it would seem and he has acheived and done many things. He has done well in all of the tournemnts which would explain why he is ranked as one of the best in the world. He has got to the Semi Finals of the Australian and French opens, Runner up in the Wimbledon championships and he has won the US open twice so he has no shortage of big acheivements. He ahs also done very well over the yaesr in doubles as well i can't tell you who he played with because i dont know but if any one does please tell me. Well he has got to the Semi Finals of Wimbledon. Austrailian and French opens and has won the Aussie open so he has had his fair share of good performances in the doubles. As for his personality he is very well known for this. He shows that he can be very funny i interviews as well and he has always go something to say and always comes out with witty and funny comments which is good because many of the tennis stars take it a lot more seriously so it is nice to see a bit of humour within the game. As many peopel would know that he has done very well in Wimbledon again this year. But he lost a gripping f
inal to Ivanisevic and this was dissapointing for him because this was the second time in a row that he had lost in a Wimbledon final and this has brought up again what he said before the tournement that he might retire. In my personal opinion i would hate to see him retire because i think he is one of the best serve volliers sorry best players to ever grace the tennis courts and he will be missed by a lot of players and a lot of fans. I think that several reasons that he might retire is that he thinks he is getting to old for the game and i dont think this is true because he is younger than Agassi and he is still going. It could also be that his earnings have totaled to over 10 million pounds which will set him up for life. Or it could be that he has slightly brought up that he might be losing a bit of love for the game but either way he should not retire because he is a people player and all people love him. So to sum up what i have said Pat is a fantastic player with a lot of talent and a lot of years left in him and i think if he carrys on he can win more grand slams but if he retires it will be a great loss. Please leave any comments because i will be happy to read.
