Advantages: Truthful Experience
Disadvantages: May offend railworkers.
the railways are an abomination!
one day in Glasgow, i leave my bag at my feet, and dont realise i dont have it until i get back to my stop.
Immediately, i alert a SPT worker, who stands for 5 minutes asking "are you sure you dont have it?"
dont you think i would know if i have a bag on my shoulder or not?!
So then, after five minutes, he strolls up the stairs, meanwhile i am distraught as i have got a phone, keys and purse in this bag.Eventually, 10 minutes wasted, he meanders into the office, carefully picking out a phonebook, and slowly looking for the number for Glasgow Central.
By the time he had phoned, 20 minutes had been wasted, and i was sent home with a number to call in an hour.
After crying over a great loss, and worry over bank cards, i phoned, and my bag had been handed in with keys, phone and purse all stolen. The keys and purse were later retrieved on a different train.
Although i may only have lost my phone and a good deal of cash out my purse, that phone contained very sentimental things inside it, that cannot be replaced.
I do know it is my stupidity that caused the bag to be left in the first place, but the action taken to try and retrieve it was of the lowest degree. I am utterly appalled by the way my case was handled, and i feel sad that other people have probably experienced the same thing.
Summary: How i feel i was treated.

- 28/11/06 If you lost your bag and someone took it, there is little the train company could do. There is always a lot of signs around to asking you not to leave any bags unattended for precisely that reason and for obvious security risks. However one can't legislate for unattended mistakes, so I do feel sorry for you. I would blame the person who stole your belongings and not the train company. |
