During one of my many blackouts in life much against my own choice I was born. Yes my "loving" parents brought me into this pitiful world and nurtured me with breast milk and the word of God.

Imagine for a moment if you will all of those children that have been raised to be soldiers by parents whom were army mad. If you like just imagine that guy from "American Beauty". Got that in your mind? OK now imagine if the parents were religion mad and were trying to create the perfect Christian soldier so-to-speak.
This is my parents, religion mad and I was to be their perfect Christian soldier and just to add the cherry to the cake I was named Christian.

For years when I was a child I was the perfect Christian. I was polite, kind, gentle, nice and I guess noble. A true Christian and one that go out of his way to make constant prayers to God asking him for good weather on holidays or something. I even wrote lyrics for Christian songs and sung them in front of a lot of kids and parents.
The only passage from the bible I ever learnt when I was child was the one I have as my title. I was given a few phrases to learn off by heart but for some reason that was the only one that stuck in my head.
Back in those days where most children were read these famous kids stories by their parents, I was read the bible by my mother. Every night she'd sit next to me and tell me a bible story and most of the time I wouldn't listen too greatly to the story I would just ask what most of the words meant.

Now days I am still a Christian and believe in my religion however I'm no longer a Christian soldier. My Christian heart was destroyed by the sordid world and the people within and with it suppressed my Christian ways deep within me.
Every now and then some Christian like qualities pop out of me but only make short appearances. All I have left is my faith now days which I keep because somewhere inside my head I know most o
f the bible and on occasion I'll remember something from it that I never knew I knew.

James Joyce like me was raised on religion by his parents, however he went in the opposite direction to myself.
Joyce for years had to attend religious boarding schools and found himself so paralysed by religion that he began to just hate it. He even based a lot of his stories on the paralysis of religion and his struggle with it.
So I guess when you are fed religion from birth you obviously go one way or the other i.e. you either believe it or you reject it.

Some people believe that God must be cruel if he exists because if he doesn't interfere then he is not trying to help the world and us within it. If he does interfere then they believe that it is him that is taking peoples lives and giving them Cancer etc.
Well God gave humans free will so he tends to let us all live our lives the way we want. He doesn't take people's lives because he promised not to interfere drastically when he made that big flood with Noah, remember?
God would try and help people if they actually took time to prayer and if they even showed any sign of believing in him before they were in an inconvenient moment. He won't do anything drastic however like click his fingers and say, "no more cancer" or "no more foot and mouth". The devil brought us cancers and diseases etc but God made the promise not to interfere drastically and he did after all give humans free will so he doesn't like to interfere with our lives.

As for the whole belief of Fate well fate can't exist because God gave us free will. Therefore we have no great destiny in life and we choose our own paths much like in 'The Matrix'.

The Big Bang theory is stupid in my belief. Not only is it absurd that we evolved from Bacteria but the fact that Bacteria formed from the Sun and that when the sun exploded it made every planet a sphere shape. I m
ean why wasn't it random shapes like Cubes or Cylinders etc?

As for other religions like Indian religions and whatever, well I find them to be a load of nonsense. My mother believes that those from India worship false God's who are really evil spirits of destruction and that is why India gets earthquakes and people drowning in rivers etc. I don't know what to make of that, it may sound stupid to you but if you heard my mother tell you it you'd believe she was right.

So let me tell you about my parents. Well at least let me tell you about my mother.
When she was younger my mom was a bit of Jim Morrison you could say. You see she was a major alcoholic and she was also deeply in to witchcraft. This was all when she was younger than 16 too. She probably met my father through being quite the alcoholic as my father was also pretty much an alcoholic. Thus that is where I got my alcoholic ways.
Anyways when she was 16 or something she got out of all those witchcraft ways and converted to Christianity. Ever since then she's been a major Christian woman and she must have converted my father somewhere along the line.
Now days she's a big show missionary and goes on big trips to India, Ireland and America. She travels all around the world for free except for meals etc and she preaches the word of God to a load of people.
So you can imagine that this leaves me with no mother for months every now and then which kind of annoys me now because I've got to do half of all the house work and all and my Dad does the other half while my brother just makes the mess.
What's more is that when she gets back she tells me all about her big trips and all, getting really excited like a child. It kind of makes me feel like I'm the one doing most of the parenting in the house whilst my parents only intervene when I want to have some fun for a change.

So I guess the general message in all of this is that I strongly b
elieve in religion and I believe others should too. However if you convert then don't become a preacher and leave your children and husband stranded for months at a time.

Interesting op you've got here, unlike some other people I rated it VU because it's an interesting insight (even if I don't agree with some of it!)
