These day's most people do Modular A levels, sitting exams in June and January of years 12 and 13, and all of the UMS marks earned contribute towards the final mark, which determines the final grade in each subject. Sometimes, modules do not always go to plan and you may find yourself slightly dissapointed with the marks you achieve in one of them.

If you don't do as well as you hoped in a module, but you didn't do amazingly badly and overall your score is still quite good in that subject, then there's not that much point in resitting it.

Remember that by choosing to resit a particular module, you are taking away potential revision time from other modules that you are yet to sit the exams for. You have to get the balance right, but certainly if you feel your grade will be affected by a poor performance, it's probably sensible to resit.

Hopefully your A levels will go well! Don't worry if you find you do need to resit, I would say the majority find they have at least one module in one subject which isn't really up to scratch.

Summary: Weigh it up and make the decision with an open mind.
