Rio Ferdinand is a professional football player for Manchester United FC. He has played for West Ham United and Leeds United while is a regular for the England national team. Rio Ferdinand plays in central defence although he has played in centre midfield occasionally in his early days. Rio has always been talked of as having potential to be one of the best defenders on the planet, as a young player coming through the West Ham ranks, he was marked out from an early age as a ball playing centre half in the Bobby Moore mode. In his early days, Ferdinand was prone to making at least one mistake per game and was also prone to the odd error off the pitch, following an £18m move to Leeds he upped his game and became part of a fantastic centre half partnership with Jonathon Woodgate.
