Disadvantages: causes further problems to already tense driving situations

Our roads were just not designed for the volume of traffic that flows on them day after day. Crowded roads are slow roads, and guaranteed a huge number of people travelling at any given time are in a hurry. No two drivers drive at exactly the same speed, so the guy next to/behind/in front of you is either a slowpoke or a maniac, and either way it's going to upset you. Many people out there do not have full control over their emotions, and when driver after driver annoys them, they get tense. This can erupt in yelling, gesturing, bad driving, or even physical violence. I don't think anything can be done about it because it's a problem of too many cars on not enough road, and we as a country do not have any more space for roads. Instead of using cameras to catch people who go 2 miles per hour over the speed limit, perhaps they should be monitoring for poor driving and road rage.
