Road Rage

We’ve all heard of road rage on the news, the case a few months a go when a guy was killed by another driver. Well, you never think it could happen to you, but it happened to me on Friday night as I was driving back from university.
It was awful conditions, it was raining very hard, and the traffic was quite congested, so I sensible drove slowly which were suitable for the weather conditions. When all of a sudden I heard a car beep, I first dismissed it thinking it was to somebody else.

But, as I continued to drive on I heard the beeping again, I looked into my mirror and saw a quite angry looking man, he must have been in his forties he was trying to get me to drive faster. But, I couldn’t as there was traffic in front of me and the visibility was poor.

For half a mile he followed me beeping his horn continuously, I became quite nervous it was the first time I was in this situation. I did think of ringing home on my mobile but what could they do, I would only worry them so I didn’t bother.
It was only until some traffic came between us that he stopped, he then overtook them and drove parallel with me for a quarter of a mile. I didn’t know what his problem was but it really terrified, he looked so spooky for the first time since I passed my driving I felt vulnerable. I just ignored him and luckily he went away.

I consider myself so lucky that I was in a busy time of days and even the minor roads were busy, otherwise I hate to think what could have happened. If I was on a open stretch of road I would have been trapped with a psycho driver who just hasn’t got the patience to wait.

It scared me quite a lot, but it won’t stop me driving. So if any of you do suffer from ‘Road Rage’ please think about you’re victims or get some help.
