I think this program was on BBC1, it was looking at the reasons why we get angry. It seems a lot of this has to do with expectations. You expect the car in-front to give you right of way, you expect people to be curtious, and drive the way you do. Basically your being optomistic. If you are more pessimistic and expect the worst from other drivers, then you do not get angry because you expect it. Anger is about expecting other people to conform to your own standards. Outside of the car it is quite noticable who are they types to suffer from road rage, at work it seems to be the more bully boy(girl)type of person who wants everything there own way. The problem is, its bid hard to go up to them and say "Hey, try being being a bit more Pessimistic" Of course generalisation is all well and good. I am sure some people who are the cause of road rage had a very bad day, and use this tank of a car as a weapon. The real crime is the victims, who have to suffer such type of people, be it in a car, airplane, work. We have all had to cope with such people, maybe we all should do some meditation each day at school, to control our anger. Charlie V

- 08/02/01 I concur with your opinion that captures the problem in a nutshell. When I was younger, too some extent I drove "aggressively" in an attempt to get to my destination quicker. However several years have passed and now I drive defensively with a view to getting to my destination safely.
