For me, road rage is caused by violent people with short tempers in cars, rather than the driving its self. Making the person violent. They seem to just so happen to have a baseball bat in the boot, or something equally as blunt.

White van drivers seem to fit the profile of people who have been attacked for cutting up a transit before the Transit had the chance to cut them up.

The driver is usually defunct of brainpower and CSEs, probably heading to a building site or chop shop in Essex.Tatoos and polyester sport labeled clothing.

Poorer or people with not so sexy jobs and told what to do all day also seem to be the ones that jump out the cars and let loose with a right hand because someone forget to indicate.

The working classes as we all know are much more violent in everyday situations and relationships, and perhaps this sudden rage is a way of taking out their lack of control in their lives on some poor sod.

Because the car is perhaps the only thing they will ever own out right, it becomes part of them and there fore if the Escort Xr3I is insulted by mildly bad driving then the driver is to.

Im sure the posh and everyday types do get involved in the odd roadside scuffle. But few and far between as they think, ok he cut me up, but I cut someone up last month so we are equal.

But for the builder the brain goes into David Beckham intelligence mode and lashes out to make himself feel a little more important than he or she ever will be.

The middle classes in the UK tend to shun mixing with the proletariat and confrontation and beat a hasty retreat.

Cyclist piss me off when im driving, even though I used to be one. But I think how blasé I was on a bike, and generally let them off for weaving all over the shot, illuminated or not.

17-40 guys commit most rage rages so the male ego/testosterone levels must come into play. Territorial if you like. Taxis are a great example of drive
rs who think they own the road regardless off anyone else with atrocious driving skills.

But as the car is an extension of our mood and us after a hard days work or play, its understandable we give adverse reactions to minor road and traffic violations.

We are enclosed in a word of our own with the radio or CD player blasting. We don’t want to be interrupted in the microcosm between work and home.

Im not going to go on a rant about women drivers as I don’t rate myself as much good. But I haven’t seen many of these press reports of guys laying into attractive women who decide to partake in some crazy driving.
I think its more about aggressive people trying to stake their territory over rash and reason……i.e. morons.
