Advantages: do NOT take this seriously, it's all the things I hate
Disadvantages: some will probably take it seriously
1. Use your cellphone whenever possible. Do not use the hands free option. 2. When attempting to pull out into traffic, wait until there is minimal space between two cars and slowly accelerate. Do not speed up quickly so as to keep cars behind you from braking, but instead, attempt to go from zero to twenty in no less than five minutes. 3. If you are behind someone, be sure to get as close to their rear bumper as possible so you are sure they can see you in their rearview mirror. When they gesture at you, wave and smile cheerfully. 4. In the event of two lanes of traffic merging into one, never follow the flow of traffic and get in the long line in the lane that it staying open. Instead, fly by all the cars waiting and try to sneak in front of someone slow on the acceleration. 5. Never apply make-up while at home. Instead, wait until you're in the car, preferably in the midst of heavy traffic. If possible, apply make-up while driving in the left lane. 6. Drive well below the speed limit in the left hand lane. When others attempt to encourage you to move to the right hand lane, slow down. Ignore all signs that say, "Slower traffic keep right." 7. If you must turn right, be sure to come to a complete stop prior to making the turn. Turn slowly and deliberately. 8. Never use your turn signal. **Please note: These guidelines follow the rules of the road in the United States only** Anyone else?

- 24/07/01 Karen, I've never driven in England, but we did in Italy and I have to admit, while the pace is much quicker over there, the drivers are more courteous (or aware) of those around them. Yes, it is frustrating here, worse in the south than it was in the north too. Amen regarding the wrecks too. That was something we noticed in Italy. ALL the cars were well taken care of. And to think, our idiot president vetoed involvement in the kyoto accord! |

- 24/07/01 lol! Great stuff. I guess you already know that the driving in the US is waaay more hazardous than here in the UK - all your drivers are insane! Not to mention the old wrecks that are allowed on the roads! And as for that 'lets change two lanes at once, for no reason whatsoever' - is that a game, or what? Road rage eh - I get enraged just THINKING about it! Cheers, karen |

- 17/07/01 One came to me this morning 'cause someone did it to me :-
Pass on the inside at a roundabout, and then hoot at the guy you've just passed telling him what a rubbish driver he is.
(That was done to me by a BT van of course!!) |
