Hamsters -What is the point??? (Rodent & Small Pet Species in general)

Well, can any of you tell me???

There is no point. They don't do any thing for you. Dogs you can cuddle, take for walks, cats you can stroke, they sit on your lap, fish are relaxing, but hamsters????

They sleep all day, get up at night. Not only do they get up at the wrong times, but they make a racket when your trying to sleep. When you handle them they make your skin crawl, they bite, and are generally useless.

They are however very good at chewing carpets when you let them out for the odd treat(instead of the ball). They are very cheap to own, but the cage takes ages to clean, and what thanks do you get?? A bite on the finger, or if you are lucky a chew of the carpet.

These are no good for children, they are up when the tiddlers go to bed, all in all good for a night security guard to watch whilst at work, but as a pet -Forget it!!!
