Advantages: An insight into my peeves
Disadvantages: ...all these things are still here annoying me, everyday grrr!
WOW - room101 - hmmm...WHERE do I start??? I can think of plenty of stuff I would like to chuck in here. My list is HUGE! But to save everyone's time, I've reduced my list considerably to a few select nuggets that really get my goat...
Firstly, I would like to thrust into that blummin room, the quality that makes people ignorant...call it bigotry, call it lack of understanding or education, whatever. My biggest problem is when I see people shouting at homeless people to get a job... Don't they realise that if they had an address, then perhaps they could get a job! On the other hand, in my experience, I have come across people who actually 'professionally beg' - that is to say they have a house, but beg instead of getting a job, and yes, maybe these people SHOULD get a job...BUT when there is someone homeless on the street and they just get hurled abuse from random drunken chavvy monkeys, it sends a wave of fury right through me. It's even worse when they suffer abuse if they are selling BIG ISSUES as they are trying to get back on their feet - they should be praised, not abused!! grrrr and arrrggh!!!
Whilst I'm able to throw 'personal traits' into the room, I want to throw in another one too...I hate it when people say they don't like something (i.e. food) without actually trying it! That's it really - like people who say 'I don't like chinese food...but I've never tried it...I just know I won't like it!' - mmmmmm'ok!! Does this make sense to anyone?? So let me throw in the trait of 'narrow-minded-ness' please?
Onto my third, and, oops, this could also be classed as another 'trait' or rather, 'habit'...People who don't wash up mugs and utensils for communal use. I haven't worked in an office for a while, but whenever I did, I always found myself tutting everytime I went into the kitchen to get a cuppa, only to find dirty mugs. Why is it that when people in the office make everyone else tea or coffee - they never clean the mugs properly? Now, call me a tradionalist, but even if you make someone a drink, isn't it polite decorum to ensure that the mug into which you are making the beverage is CLEAN??? O how I yearn for a tea-stainless-rimmed-mug!
Fourth up...is bad drivers...especially those who don't let you in when you want to switch lanes and give they just give abuse...its just RUDE. I don't cut people up on the roads...honest...I'm a good boy, I am. So, let me throw in bad drivers too, if that's ok??
Fifth could also be classed as a, you've guess it, another trait...It's people who are really precious about music. Sometimes people do covers - get over it. Sometimes people don't write their own music - get over it. I had a huge 'debate' (notice how I put debate in inverted commas!) that weirdly turned into an arguement about Moulin Rouge using other people's music - yikes - how did this happen, I don't know...but who cares if the film uses other band's music? People re-use music to fit a sound they're creating, so what? Grrrr. Imitation is the highest form of flattery...if a band/artist want to do a cover...let them!! It's all good! Share the love!
Oooo and there's one more I'd like put away. My last 'trait' I want to expel forever into that room of nastiness, is people don't finish their senten...
