Advantages: None

Disadvantages: Everything!

I couldn't not answer this, as one of my favourite things to do is to rant and complain! Not that I'm negative or anything...

1) The first thing is the phrase "It's political correctness gone mad!" along with anyone who has ever uttered it.

I'm sorry. I really am.

But if you're going to argue against something genuinly ridiculous like Ealing LEA banning the song Ba ba black sheep in nurseries (which, by the way, was a rumour started by the Conservative Government to undermine them- http://www.dg.dial.pipex.com/history/text05.shtml, about 17 paragraphs down) then argue against it! There's no point in going "No Christmas carols in schools? It's political correctness gone mad!" Think carefully about why you're angry, and come up with an effective arguement and a solution to the problem which benefits everybody.

We're human beings capable of independant and creative thought useful in structuring arguements that can make your opponant look like a total idiot. If you rely on meaningless stock phrases stolen from the front page of The Daily Mail, you will, unfortunatly, look like that very idiot!

2) Secondly, I would like to send away those annoying websites which pop up when you mistype a commonly used URL, http://www.faceook.com/ being an example.

Presumably they earn money from advertising, but they annoy me! They're pointless, and I would love to find out who came up with the concept of buying a webpage, putting links to other random websites on it and just waiting for people to mispell stuff! It's even more frustrating when you notice that sites like google and eBay deliberatly buy the common mispellings so that customers can be redirected to the real site immediatly. This, in my opinion, takes the nuisance link sites from the status of 'slight irritation' to a frustratingly wasteful use of the internet, because they take up space that could be used in a more convenient way.

3) The third and final thing I'd like to go to Room 101 is the entire debate over the size zero trend.

The most amusing thing I've ever seen on the front cover of a magazine was the inspired proclamation "The Size Zero Trend Is Over!" sitting adjacent to a similar (read: almost identical) rival magazine which seemed to believe that "Size Zero Is Back!".

I think in this situation, it might have been preferable for them to confer amongst themselves before going to print and decide once and for all whether celebrity women are too thin or too fat so we all know whether to gorge ourselves on chocolate biscuits or to follow the cutoffyouruglyheadandloseweightinstantlyTM diet.

I'm sick of people telling women what they're supposed to weigh! The healthy BMI range goes from 18.5 to 25 which is a massive variation. Yes, some people are massively overweight, and it's a good idea to lose it for their health. But when magazines starts obsessing over minor fluctuations it gives the impression that -1 pound makes you frail and petite and girly and +1 pound makes you overweight and means that nobody can possibly be 'perfect'.

Also, this attitude has spread to the general public. I'm underweight, but I should be able to go to the pool without worrying people are going to make comments. No, I don't want a sandwich. Thanks for asking.

There are other people at the other end of the scale who have the same problem. Room 101, people! Enjoy... :)
