What a great thing this is been able to write a opinion about getting rid of something you really hate from everyday life, shame it don’t actually remove the thing you hate as well.

I thought long and hard about what I really hated the most in life that’s why the next sentence of this opinion was written about two weeks after this one.

Well I have finally made my mind up and have decided on scooters, I don’t mean those daft ones that young kids on which seem to have come back into fashion for gods only know reason.

I am talking about those horrible scooters which all the teenagers of today have decided they must own.

I really don’t know were to start with telling you why I hate these things so much as I hate them for so many reasons.
I think I might be best of telling you about my problems involving them first.

Well about 18 months ago I was driving my nice 1 year old Renault megane around Rotherham a town local to me. I was making my way along a double carriageway in the right hand lane overtaking a scooter when all of a sudden he changed into my lane. Problem was I was there so he smashed straight into my front wing and door. I could not believe what he had done he changed lane with no indication and for no reason.

I of course stooped and went to see he was okay were he proceed to give it F this and F that about how I was speeding etc. Well I am quite a calm person but I tell you this little idiot was making my blood boil. I asked why he had changed lane was it to overtake an invisible friend he said no he had changed lane because he wanted to. I said did they teach you that on your driving test he then told me he had no licence as it was not required to ride a scooter I could not believe this but it turns out to be true after speaking to the police.

Well after a few mo
nths and insurance arguments I ended up with only half my damage costs as he disputed the claim I had a witness etc but due to the small amount been claimed for damage £1000 ( not small to me ) but my insurance company and its solicitors did not feel it was worth taking to court.

My 2nd reason for hating those dammed scooters is also the fact of how dangerous they are two local teenagers to me have been seriously hurt while messing around on these machines in my local area. I can not believe that the government of this country feel it is safe to let teenage boys loose with scooters on our roads with no more than a provisional licence. We all know how stupid teenagers can be when in groups and when you add the fact they are on scooters and loose on our roads the mind boggles to why nothing has been done. Many a time I have been driving on our estate to find the road blocked by a convoy of teenagers on scooters. Maybe this is only a problem in my local area but I would be grateful if people could leave comments if they have noticed problems with scooters in their areas.

After writing this opinion I have finally made my mind up to write to my local MP to see if he will lobby for a change in the law regarding scooter laws. I will update the opinion with what response I get if I get one.

Thanks For reading.

Scooters are a pain in the backside. A lot(not all) of the riders have no roadsense, they buzz up and down like idiots and act as if they own the road. Good luck with your MP.

agree with lookaround. When in Italy the young 'uns are also speeding around on them which is fine, but it just doesn't work here in England.

They ride the stupid things on the pavement in Korea and beep their horns at pedestrians who are in front of them.
