Hmmm, another chance for a rant. Good then! What I'd like to get rid of? There are endless possibilities, to be honest I could go on all day, but I doubt anyone would read it all so I won't rumble on too long and I'l try to make each point brief. First off people who want to change what I think. Vegetarianism is fine, it isn't for me, so don't try and tell me not to eat meat. The same goes for religion, and just about everything else like that. I'm tolerant (ish) but what I do and think is up to me and no one else should try to change that. And that includes trying to make me eat veggie burgers as an alternative to meat, if I want a burger I may as well eat the meat version - sorry veggies but they taste awful! One group of people I can't stand though is the pacifists who never want us to fight. Take Afganistan, or the Kosovo thing. No one wants to see innocent people die but these people take it too far. People like Bin Laden don't listen to reason, but some people think that if they invited him for afternoon tea and had a good talk to him he would see sense. The only thing to do with terrorists of Bin Ladens status is to kill them. Oh, and also opinionated people who have a (often wrong) view on everything. Bit like me I guess! I don't mean people who have viewpoints, I mean people who think they know everything but half the time they're blatantly talking out their arse. Trains are another thing. Last time I got to the station, stepped out the taxi only to hear the announcer saying the train had been cancelled and I had to wait another 2 hours. Next up are the rubbish web sites which were obviously written by someone with as much knowledge as an ape. Then we have people who stereotype, i.e. all students don't wash, all old people are boring, all youths cause trouble. Oh, and then people who believe so blindly in something that they can't see logical rea
son. Next up the increasing number of manufactured pop stars and groups. They don't write their own music, a few have a good voice but the majority can't sing at all. Is it any surprise that the successful females are good looking? I mean, they don't write their own songs or music, they rely on a recording studio to make them sound good - it's hardly music is it! People who see films and think they're reality annoy me too. You know, the hi-tec films where everyone can do everything, whether the government can read your car number plate with a satellite or listen to anyone's phone call. While no doubt some of it is true, it's a film and it is not real life!! And then conspiracy theories, I don't think they're all tripe, but some people look for them everywhere for the sake of it. If you take all the conspiracy theories then no doubt a few are true, but I can't stand people who think everything must be a conspiracy. Then we have expensive bars. A pint of beer is about £2. Am I the only one who isn't fooled in to thinking a trendy bars beer costs more to make and serve than a normal pub? Rubbish! And then posh hotels that charge £25 for steak that's no nicer than the one for a tenner in the other restaurant. People who suck up on Dooyoo, you know the ones who rate everything VU regardless of whether it's crap or not and leave a comment on every review that goes along the lines of 'Superb op, nominated for crown, please come and read all my ops now'. Worse than churners in my book! And quickly........ People who use mobile phones loudly in public. Phone batteries that run out at the most inconvenient moments. Businesses who say they'll deliver one day and then don't. Liquorice. Pub closing times. And that's that.
