Advantages: Life would be nice without 'em.
Disadvantages: They wouldn't just disappear.
I've got lots to complain about. That's why I'm a Dooyoo member. And my complaints aren't just product based. BORING CONFORMING CONSUMERS: "I need those shoes" "I can't live without that shirt" Yes you can. You just don't buy it. Just hold yourself back - you don't buy it. If all these society puppets could just leave this planet, I really would not mind one bit. Most rebels aren't rebelling from society. They are rebelling in to another type of consumerism. Parents - keep your kids away from society. I've experienced it. It sucks. SNOBS Status symbols? The only status I want is a life where I am doing an enjoyable job and earning enough to get by. Success to me can be summarised by the wonderful Mr Bob Dylan: "What's money? A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do." CHART MUSIC: You like S Club 7. You like Madonna. No I don't. So - why do you always play it on the radio. THE NOTION THAT SCHOOL IS EDUCATION: School isn't education. Off your kids trot to school. They are learning facts. Hundreds of them. But are they learning life? No. The first main thing that is wrong is grammar education - the people who pay for it generally don't make good use of it, and the people who really deserve a good education to improve thier skills get sweet FA. I think that the UK government should promote a new theme in schooling - "Buck up, or F**k off!". If people don't want to work, they should get the hell out. We are providing these little ____'s with an absolutely amazing education - what are they doing? Screwing it up for the people who do want to learn. Get your act together, or get your ass out! *** REAL EDUCATION COMES FROM DOING, NOT STUDYING. *** Those are my real killers - the things that really g
et my goat. The rest are pretty light-hearted stuff! SCIENCE SUBJECTS On a bit more of a lighthearted note - all Science subjects should be instantly removed from the education system. Kids shouldn't have to suffer years and years of maths, biology, physics and chemistry. There is only one answer: ARTS! Fine art, English, NU-METAL "MUSIC" Pansy rebellion music for 14 year olds, who don't realise that it is basically uninspiring musicianship and a huge lack of talent. The screaming guitars and distortion is basically an elaborate mask for a lack of talent. TISCALI "Connection to the remote host has been lost." "Disconnected." "Sorry sir, our servers are currently not working". Grrr.... "TXT MSGIN" / MOBILE PHONES I reely h8 mobil fones. Espl whn thy rnng on buses & trns. Seen that before? Yep. A "txt msg" - the sole reason why people have a huge inability to "spk" properly. Or "rite" properly. You pathetic people send billions around the world every month. Customised ringing tones - the scourge of the bus / train / pub / classroom / theatre / shops / classroom / art gallery / public toilets / tube train / street corner. Everywhere I go - ring ring ring - "Hello luv, what's for dinner? Shall I buy some crisps? Ready Salted - or Cheese and Onion? Do you want Walkers or Golden Wonder? How about a pizza?". I'm not opposed to mobile phones in principle - they are great tools, especially if you have a family (ha ha, unlucky!). I'm opposed to them in the fact that they let people talk to their fellow morons, and intrude on my ear-space while doing it. I write this and then realise that while I'm writing there is a big fat advert for Genie and Nokia at the top of the page. D'oh! MICROSOFT WINDOWS "General Protection Fault" "Press CTRL+ALT+DEL"
Fortunately, my problems with this are consigned to history, but just a mention of Windows, even if it is "Open the window." can make my blood boil. Microsoft - thanks for causing me permanent stress problems 1993 - 1999. So, there you go. My personal list of quotes. Version 1.0. I reserve the right to come back and add more. And no doubt, once I get back to college in a week or so, I'll make a daily trip to update it. And to end with a quote: "The young always have the same problem - how to rebel and conform at the same time. They have now solved this by defying their parents and copying one another." - Quentin Crisp. -- Tom Morris bbcity.co.uk

- 02/04/02 Hi Jill! Hi all! Thanks for the comments. I haven't been on here for a while (which I can blame single-handedly on the government's AS system! That ol' chestnut again!)
Thanks for all the nice comments. If someone could please just remove just one or two of those things and banish them from the multiverse, I'd be eternally grateful.
And you want me to be the Head of Education!?!?!?! No thanks!!! |
