Advantages: get rid of annoying things, see people's opinions, funny (sometimes)
Disadvantages: bad guests spoil it for everyone, some are offensive, not real! :(
i would love to bannish anne robinson (and yes before you ask i am welsh) to room 101, i think she's the most annoying arrogant person i have ever seen in my life (and i have seen some pretty annoying and arrogant people let me tell you) but not only that her 'jokes' are becoming (i use the term becoming loosely) old, tired and lame, ok they might have been funny the first time we heard them, that goodbye thing etc, but now it's just like- get a new routine for f*** sake!
i would also like to banish the royals into room 101, they are scabs on this country, all they do is use up our money etc, they're a waste, what good thing have they done for this country? what use/purpose do they serve? NONE!
i think room 101 is a brilliant idea because it lets people get things off their chest and (when you get a good guest) is very funny, i just wish that some of the things people voted to go into room 101 did actually dissapear and there was sucha c thing so that we common folk could get rid of some of our own pet-peeves.
oh and two other things i'd like to get rid of are ventriloquist dummies, because they scare the beegeejus out of me! and they're useless pathetic things (except orville of course- but he doesn't count- and cuddles is evil so he's sure to go into room 101!)
and also those nodding dog things at the back of cars, i mean what are they for!?! they're just annoying little kitch stupid things (as you can tell they get on my nerves- so much so infact i can't tell you how much i hate them- the words just fail me!)

- 09/04/02 The Royals are probably one of the biggest foregin tourists draw's that our little island posseses, and whereas YES they do have a wage for all the services rendered (they have a very full calender), they also have a great deal of their own money anyway..
The Queen Mother refused to leave London during the war, and made a point of visiting every danger zone to raise moral (much appreciated visits during a horrible time), and also worked tirlesly in a hospital for the war wounded, as opposed to hiding away as she was advised.. Admitidly many people do this each and every day but that is not the issue here.
To refer to ALL the Royals as 'scabs' when we have a few of them with a great history is an insult to all those who have had their live enriched by their presence.
With waspish opinions like this, Anne Robinson probably has good reason for not liking the Welsh.
