Right, I don't believe you've got to bim anything, simply because if that thing is of no use to you right now it might be at a future date or it might be of some use to somebody else BUT there is a certain object that I do believe has to be binned. METERS. Thats right, meters. Meters ... in all shapes and sizes and for whatever purpose they were installed. They are lies manifested as a box. You never know what you're being charged for. It's just simply there. I've got an electric meter installed and I pay by a pre-payment card. Therefore, I pay in advance and as I use electricity my credits run low. One day, I ran out of credit completely (including the emergency credit) so I spent the whole day and night without the bliss of electricity. Thats nothing special, what was special is ..I was being charged as I spent my evening in the dark. I woke up to discover that I was actually charged 20p for that day. Thats 1.5 for a week and 78 pounds for the year for nothing. In my absolute rage I called the electric company and they said thats a normal charge (they said that was even a cheap rate!). So meters, I would love to bin you since you prove useless. Down you go. All meters for whatever purpose. Second item, it's not an object but its the word 'very'. What does it mean? He is very big..doesn't add anything....how big!...its just a vague word meaning absolutely nothing. In fact good writers avoid such words because it affects the quality of their writing. So 'very' ....have a very good day and down you go. Third and last item is the term 'gentleman'. I have serious problems with this word. More than meters and 'very' combined. What is a gentleman? If a man is gentle he is simply not a man. Or do people refer to people like James Bond who were popular with the women as 'gentlemen' but they weren't gentlemen they were womanisers. Anyway, in this day and age most women do
n't like the men that are too nice + it's abit cheesy to open doors, take coats, pull sits etc etc etc. Maybe the word is just part of the concept of the British empire. So 'gentleman' down you go and you're definitely the weakist link. Goodbye.

- 01/05/02 I'm not sure whether you're male or female by reading this. I don't see why the concept of a gentleman eludes you and I don't think it's cheesy to have someone open doors for you either! Sue |

- 30/04/02 Hello! A rather be-lated welcome to dooyoo.
Quite agree with meters. My electricity meter is on pound coins. Always runs out in the nigh, when my wallet is in the other room and I have to bash into various pieces of furniture to replenish my light and heat!
Thanks, C. |
