RVN scored 35 goals last term, was runner up in the race for the premiership golden boot, and top-scored with 12 goals in the European Champions league. Yet for some reason in my opinion he hasn’t done enough to earn my utmost respect. RVN was signed for what was then a record British transfer fee of £19m after recovering from a lengthy layoff. Expectations were extremely high at the club and Ferguson though he had signed a perfect striker. RVN made his name at PSV where he impressed and played with the likes of Ronaldo.
