Advantages: Great fun, fast, competative

Disadvantages: Can be costly, competition is hard

Some would say that sailing is a slow relaxing past time not a fast furious sport, but when you are using new high technology light weight olympic boats in gale force 7 out in the solent of the isle of white, you will realise that anyone who thinks its relaxing needs their eyes testing, Arguably there is the oap's and retired business men who like to potter around in 25 year old wooden dingy's, but there are people like me who like to race Darts and cats in gale force winds, it is so exhilerating to be able to zip along with the wind gusting and the water spraying up all over you, and when your racing the adrenalin starts pumping round your body. Its a fun skillful sport with loads and loads of freindly people doing it(but they arent so freindly when you over take them in a race) and there are many different age groups and boats to start on, from the bath tub like optimist to the speedy laser, to the fourteen foot Catamaran. So i think, if ya get the chance, hop onto a boat and see what you are missing.
