these cases in my opinion are the best cases which are currently on the market especially the hardshell design. they are initially quite expensive but they do last for years on end. they are very difficult to break which is needed if you are travelling a lot. sometimes bags can be destroyed when going through the baggage systems at airports as they get thrown about quite a bit by baggage handlers or can get caught in the system. if you have a samsonite hardshell case this is a lot less likely to happen. they are very tough cases which you can get in a variety of colours. they are also safer than regular cases as they have a combination lock so you know that if you ...  Read the complete review

In July this year (2008) I got my hands on a Samsonite suitcase which apparently cost my daughter around £80 but was actually worth nearly £150. My daughter passed it on to me for my holiday in Tenerife as she and her hubby had just recently bought a matching luggage set and my old case was looking a bit worse for wear. It has always really just been a matter of a case is a case to me when I bought a suitcase but I can immediately see the quality difference between any of my old cases and this Samsonite one. The samsonite I have is known as the Samsonite sky wheeler I believe and it has hard sides which do not even flex if I put my full ...  Read the complete review

Samsonite are one of the best known suitcase manufacturers and I bought mine on e-bay which meant I got it for about a thiord off the normal retail price however the downside is that it is a rather bright purple colour so the hope of having matching luggage is not one I can acheve unless I buy more of the same. Having said that I have no problem spotting mine on the conveyor belt at the airport. What I like about Samsonite is how robust and well made they are, they are solid cases that do not give when you press on them and this means your contents are protected from baggage handlers who throw your cases around for fun, or at least it seems that way. Mine is ...  Read the complete review

My Samsonite suitcase is one of the best perchases I have ever made when it comes to travelling, it was certainly not cheap as it set me back just under £100 for an American Tourister model that is black in colour. One of the problem with buying a fairly common brand and colour is that it can be hard to spot on the conveyor belt at airports so I have covered mine with a few stickers of places I have been and of a dance studio and night club stickers so it is definately mine. The suitcase is a solid body type so it will not expand and allow you to pack extra clothes in, having said that it has more than enough capacity for my travel needs and the ...  Read the complete review

I am the proud owner of a Samsonite 'Sky Wheeler' suitcase. It should have cost me about £150.00 which is a lot of money! It actually cost me an incredible £8.00 at Chirk car boot sale! Mine is black but they are also available in other colours. Beige and yellow if I remember correctly. My last hard sided suitcase used to scuff very easily but this one (touch wood) still looks pretty unblemished. I have always looked at the expensive luggage in various airport shops a bit wistfully. There is no way I would pay the asking price for this item. I just don't have that sort of money to spend on luggage. (Especially when I could be spending it on ...  Read the complete review
