When half the grid has ... more

Jensen is the handsome square-jawed racer, dad John also raced cars in his younger days, cutey pie and articulated Lewis also coming from a motor sport lineage. I really really really wanted to be out in Sao Paulo and Brazil for the winter and do a bit of travelling around. This was the reason I was going to go to the countries biggest city and marvel at the championships only anti clockwise track. The girls are supposed to be beautiful and the crime wave exquisite, with the city being more packed than Australia at rush hour. Sadly for you and me im here in Northampton, banging out these predictable reads on sport after watching the same highlights as you did. The world just fell in on they who chase the mighty German. The red raw unpredictable Ferrari and the worst tyres on the blistering South ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sao Paulo F1 Venue: For Sure... Exciting (2363 words)

As always with my F1 opinions I’ll be identifying three drivers that are heroes and three that are villains as well as a hero team and a villain team. I’ll also be giving my general opinion on the race itself. * The Results – Records Fail, Rain Falls, ‘Meister’ Falls* ‘Rain Meister” my arse! The weather was bad and somewhat unpredictable as to when it was actually going to pull it’s finger out and get bad. Despite this AND a cockup by McLaren in the pits, Herr Schumacher failed to capitalise on what is commonly referred to as “His ground” and finished a fairly distant (Admittedly over a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Wrong Way Around! (642 words)

Interlagos is one of only two circuits in the Grand Prix season where the cars travel in an anticlockwise direction. The other is Imola in Italy and this year these two races follow each other. Formula 1 drivers spend hours in the gym keeping fit and one of the main exercises they do is to put weights onto their helmet and keep moving their head around to strengthen their neck muscles. This is because during a race the “G” forces on the neck can be very stressful. As the majority of all the circuits are clockwise obviously the exercises are designed to build up their necks for those circuits. The anticlockwise circuits are therefore an extra ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sao Paulo F1 Venue: Nuts About Brazil (1052 words)

The Interlagos cicuit just outside Sao Paolo is very interesting for many reasons. Firstly the are a variety of challenges for the drivers to overcome. You have the massive and quick start/finish straight wher the cars reach top speeds of around 200mph. Expect some huge speed trap figures coming with this years cars being faster than before, especially the Williams with it's mighty BMW engine. As well as this straight there are some very tight and slow, first gear corners for the drivers to negotiate. Blind speed is not the only pat of the equation which the teams need to solve in order to do well here, you also need good levels of grip for the ...  Read the complete review
