Advantages: spare cash
Disadvantages: changes made to the way I live
Saving for future could be difficult because temptation to use the money is greater than the will to save.
To save efficiently you will need a battle plan.
First of all sit down and on a piece of paper write down where you spend the money every week.
Once everything is written down, type it up on excel or similar software. Create a worksheet on excel or similar software and keep a record of spending for a week and than a month. Get a printout and work out what is essential and what is not. This may take several hours but believe me it is worth it.
Once you have read everything get a pen and highlight things that weren’t necessary. Create another sheet for unnecessary purchases and work out how much you spent this way. Call this wasted money sheet. Keep this handy for future encouragement.
Sit down again and work out how you could have saved money on essential things. For instances taking packed lunch to college or work could save money. Walking instead of driving or catching a bus saves money. Cutting down on expensive purchases like shoes and clothes. Buy stuff from sales or reduced prices etc.
It is painful and it hurts, in fact it is as difficult as losing weight. Saving requires will power and change of lifestyle. It is all worth it. Ten years from now you could put the saved money to good use. Decent holidays, new car, wedding expenses etc. Keeping a target in mind helps saving.
Remember saving requires effort from you, change your lifestyle. Saving money is very important. By cutting down on your expenditure only one person benefits. YOU!
Everything I have written in this review is from personal experience.
