Advantages: You have more money
Disadvantages: No money worries
As a student, I am constantly watching my money and trying to claw myself out of the hole that is student debt. Here are my tips for keeping your wallet just that little bit fatter:
*www.studentfreestuff.com request free samples of things like tea bags, coffee.
*www.studentbeans.com has a lot of voucher for things like 2 for one meals at some very nice resturants including las iguanas.
*www.helphound.com earn some extra money writing reviews of businesses, see my seperate review about this site as it really is a great reviewing site that pays out.
*Sell anything you dont use on ebay or gumtree.com
*Dont have the heating on until you get really cold around november time.
*Do the washing up once a day to save on hot water
*Use all your coppers to pay for the bus, or walk!
*If you must join a gym, join the university one, my one at leeds uni costs 50 pounds for the year, so you can earn your money back in about 12 sessions.
*Do a big food shop online, buy stuff for lunchboxes so you dont have to buy lunch everyday.
*Buy fruit and veg at a market, its loads cheaper.
*Get on slicethepie.com, you get to listen to new music for free and you get paid to write a few lines about what you thought of the track.
*Put your student loan in an ISA for as long as you can, then you will get free interest on the money and then have more to spend.
*Get a piggy bank, this is filled up with my coppers which then pay for my bus fare.
*Never buy drinks in clubs, get drunk at home with a cheap bottle of vodka shared between friends
I have so many more but really cant list them until I actually think of them and do them. As a student I think its really important to save on the pennies
Summary: My tips really work
