Disadvantages: Maybe you like it in the red

This review is based mostly around good money saving tips, and for one thing, reviewing on dooyoo is a great start! I also review on Ciao! which is alright, but in my opinion dooyoo is much better - just find something that you can write about and you'll get paid for it!
here are some ideas of ways to save money

1. Look at food costs. So much food gets thrown away - which is effectively just throwing away money, so only buy what you need and don't be tempted by BOGOFs unless its on something that you can use or store - non perishable items are great to stock up on when they are on offer - think pasta, rice, toilet paper, canned good etc. Also make good use of your freezer! If you have some leftover food from a meal, just freeze it, and you'll have a spare meal for when you need one. Don't buy too much fruit and veg - you can always get some more if you need it, but you can't "unbuy" it - so don't waste it!

2. Turn down your heating and put on a jumper. This one is pretty self-explanatory - if you turn the heating down or off, you are making a substantial saving. You only need to buy a jumper once.

3. Sign up for some loyalty cards, but NOT store cards. If you shop somewhere regularly (like your supermarket, or boots) get yourself a loyalty card, as you're going to be spending the money anyway, so you might as well be rewarded for it. The body shop has a great members card, which you pay £5 for, then you get 10% off all your purchases, a free £5 gift on your birthday month, a £5 gift when you reach 4 stamps on your card and a £10 gift when you reach 8 stamps. This effectively pays for itself with the girfts and you get some money off every time you go in - great for presents.

4. take advantage of special offers and discounts. As dirty student-types, my boyfriend and I never go into a restaurant without some form of special offer card in our wallets - we got a BOGOF main meal offer at wagamama's, a nando's loyalty card (the next time we go we get a free half chicken - thats practically a whole meal for the two of us) and a 10% off menu items at pizza hut voucher. Some of these are better than others, but none of them are to be sniffed at - they save you a bit of money every time. If you have a voucher then use it!

Summary: Save some money - its not too hard

Some great tips! Many of these little ideas are so obvious when you think about them but its easy to get complacent so a reminder is always good! Especially about the heating - I've yet to switch mine on at all this year and it really does save lots (I'm lucky though, I've got a really snug little flat!)

Great ideas! I think everyone gets so spoiled with heating, we forget we HAVE blankets!

Loyalty cards don't really pay for themselves - you do. It's all considered in the margin. The Body Shop, for example, is comparably expensive to other retailers.
