Advantages: more money
Disadvantages: You will have to sacrifice a few things.
Your opinion Edit Many people dream of retiring at fifty, exploring the world maybe owning a ten bed roomed house or two and being able to buy anything, they desire. Ok you can get you head out of the clouds now, there is a slight problem that begins with "m" and ends with "y". Yes, that dreaded word "MONEY". Unfortunately, we need money to often make our dreams come true. As a student, I am often short of money and have discovered ways in which to hold onto it and save it. Which I am going to share with you, It will cost you though! (Only joking) 1. The first tool you need to look after your money is willpower. I have found this especially hard if I get paid in cash as there is a great temptation to spend it straight away. The best way to be paid is with a cheque so you have no choice but put the money in the bank. Then you can withdraw what you want when you need it. Then hopefully at the end of the month you will have left some in the bank. Willpower is the key to most things in life. You have to keep thinking to yourself you can do it. 2. Make time to look into the best interest rates. This can really affect your savings. Of course as you are all, so familiar with the Internet, why not look up the interest rates after you have read my op? :) 3. Don't use credit cards unless you really need to. It surprises me just how many banks like to push credit cards on students. They seem to actually want to get you into debt. Credit cards give shoppers a false sense of security thinking they can spend money they do not have. If you haven't got the money in the bank don't spend it ! 4. Don’t buy lunch every day. Whether you work or are a student. There is no need to spend money on food. Forget the fancy lunches and mochas. Buy a couple of loaves a bread a week, sandwich filler and you are well on the way to saving yourself pounds. Put the mo
ney you would have spent on lunch in a high savings account and you will soon notice the difference. 5. My final point is; if you don’t have the money to spend stay well away from the shops! Why not try a few of these points and I bet you will notice a change in your bank balance. If you do not think you can do it, just think of that holiday home in Bali!
