Michael SchumacherNewest Review: ... to collect four points, enough to make him Champion in only his second year in Formula 1. In 1998 he stalled on the grid from pole position at the final race in Japan and then had a puncture, forcing him out of the race. A win might have given him the Championship; instead it went to his nemesis, Mikka Hakkinen. Remember 1999, the year Michael broke his leg at the British Grand Prix and had ... more |

"If your name's Schumacher I guess you can talk cobblers." This comment once made by ITV commentator and former Schumacher team-mate Martin Brundle has long stuck in my mind. And now that Michael's Formula 1 retirement is history it is possible to look more dispassionately at the man and his achievements. And what achievements! He has left the rest of the field standing: Seven World Championships, 91 wins and 68 pole positions from 250 Grand Prix starts over 16 seasons tell it all. Michael is a winner, and a tough competitor, from head to toe. You don't do all that just by cheating. And yet it could have been even better. A reckless and ... Read the complete review

I HAVE ON AUTHORITY THAT SCHUMI WILL BE LEAVING NEXT YEAR NOT BECAUSE HE IS A SORE LOSER ITS BECUSE HIS FAMILY AND HIMSELF HAVE DECIDED THAT THEY ARE MOST IMPORTANT AND HE MISSES THEM A LOT. BUT HE WILL BE STRONG TO GET HIS CROWN, ALONSO IS SHOWING STRESS HAS FOR SCHUMI HE IS COOL AND CANT WAIT TO KNOCK OFF THE RENAULTS OFF THERE PERCHES. HE IS GLAD THAT THIS SEASON IS OVER BUT HE WILL NEVER QUIT EVEN IF HE HAS HAD SOME BAD MOMENTS, I DONT BLAME HIM TO GO WHILE HE STILL IS TOP. I CANNOT SEE ALONSO STAYING ON TOP AS LONG AS SCHUMI DID. THE GRAND PRIXS WILL BE BORING WHEN HE LEAVES, I FEEL THAT THE RATING WILL DROP, I CANNOT SAY HOW MUCH BUT IT WILL NOT BE SO ... Read the complete review

~ ~ Michael Schumacher, the German Formula One driver, recently wrote himself firmly into the history books as the best driver ever to take the wheel of a Formula One racing car. His achievement of winning a record-breaking sixth World Driver’s Championship in early October, 2003 puts him one win ahead of the record he (until now) shared with the Argentinian ace of old, Juan Manuel Fangio. ~ ~ Even I have to now admit (and I’m not that big a fan of the big German) that it would have been a total travesty if he had lost it in the very last race in Japan, as he had chalked up six Grand Prix victories this season, compared to his nearest ... 68 wins, 54 pole positions, 54 fastest laps, 999 points and five world championships. These statistics are all that needs to be said about the quickest driver in Formula One. Considered by many to be arrogant and cold, whilst loved in almost equal numbers by adoring fans, Michael Schumacher's career really began to blossom just as Ayrton Senna's came to abrupt and horrific end. Schumacher and Senna are the most frequently compared drivers of the modern-era, having between them taken a staggering 8 world championships between them since 1988. A great many fans say Senna was the better driver despite having achieved quite a bit less than Schumacher in a ... Read the complete review

Michael Shumacher is undoubtably the greatest formula 1 driver of all time. He basically wins every race, and has the title already wrapped up in 2002. He has won the most formula 1 races of all time, and in my opinion even if you put him into an arrows he will still do good. Now leave, please. Schumacher has made the sport very dull indeed over the past few years. I dont even bother watching the races live anymore because i know who has won. Maybe theres not enough competition for the German ace? I used to be a keen admirer of F1 and used to watch all the races in the Hill/Schumacher era. Now the sport has been dismantled because of his dominance. Its become a ... Read the complete review
