Shito-ryu is a traditional style of Karate-do (way of the empty hand). It is one of the five original stlyes that were founded in the islands of Japan, Okinowa in particular. It descends from a martial art called Te, which in itself is a stlye brought over to Japan from China by gung fu practishoners.
