Advantages: people should be allowed to decide for themselves

Disadvantages: it can have a serious affect on peoples lives

My personal opinion is that cannabis should be legalised. After considering all the information I have recieved, I feel my decision is an informed one.
I do not consider cannabis to be any more dangerous than tobacco or alcohol. It is no more addictive than either, and the health problems are no greater. The legalisation of tobacco and alcohol has given this country a large amount of money in tax. People are going to buy cannabis regardless of whether its legal or not, so why not use the profit for the good of the country, instead of making a few individuals rich.
The legalisation of cannabis will not create a very large increase in the number of users. The majority of young people at least try it at some stage, so I see no reason in not making it legal.
I also feel that people should be able to make their own decision. Given the facts, they should be allowed to make up their own mind, and if they chose to use it, they should not have their decision threatened by the law.
