Advantages: some medical benefits
Disadvantages: Paranoia in many cases
Should cannabis be legalised? I am not sure but I am edging towards saying no.
Nowadays cannabis is very readily available to all who want to try it, kids are smoking cannabis instead of cigs to be cool. I was having lunch with a work colleague when her mobile phone rang, her eleven year old daughter had been caught smoking cannabis in the girls toilets at school, I was shocked.
Cannabis comes in 2 forms, weed or resin. Both have the same effect although weed is more natural and black is less bitter although can be mixed and is not as pure.
I know quite a few people who have regularly smoked the drug and the one thing they have in common is that it effects them all very differently.
I know in many cases it helps sooth and calm, this is a good side effect and I also know it does have some medical benefits, I believe it should be a prescription drug for these cases.
I also know a few people who are badly effected by smoking cannabis, these friends (3 in total) have had many breakdowns and over 5 attempted suicides between them. They have displayed many signs of paranoia and struggle day to day with life and relationships. Cannabis does not effect everyone this way and these 3 individuals are very regular smokers but it is a danger and many people do get a mild case of paranoia when smoking cannabis.
I am not saying it is all bad, but like alcohol, it effects everyone differently and cannabis makes people too unstable.
Summary: It is too unpredictable
