I understand that it is your body and you can do what you want, but with so many side-affects? Why?

Advantages: Medical Use
Disadvantages: Depression, Paranoia,
Yes I admit it, I smoked it in high school a few times... when I was at sixth form a couple of times there as well. However I am SO against it, surprisingly I was against it back then too... I happen to suffer from a panic disorder and simply the thought of drugs, being near drugs or even getting a hug off someone who has taken drugs could trigger a panic attack.
Now can you imagine someone like me, somewhere where weed is legal? I wouldn't be able to leave my house, I know I'm not alone I'm sure there are many others that cannot be around it. A world where weed is legal and smoked like tobacco would be hell to me, I can't actually see the need for weed (that could be catchy, 'no need for weed') other than for medical use - it is just an excuse for people to kill their brain cells and ruin their lives.
Most of the people I know who have smoked weed, have become depressed, addicted and moved onto something stronger - I happen to be turning 19, these people are my age, being a teenager is hard enough without the drama that drugs can cause.
There was a point in my life where I thought if drugs were legalized it wouldn't be a novelty, people wouldn't want it as much... but then if you consider that some people think alcohol and tobacco is a drug... those are both being abused, people are becoming addicted and they are both legal.
Although Alcohol and Tobacco is legal to a specific age, maybe if it was to be legalized a strict age limit should be considered - However that's another point, I'm from the UK - in the UK you can drink at 18, I had my first night-out with alcohol in High School (I was definitely underage) and now that I am maturing, I no longer want to drink as much, I prefer to social drink at this age - not binge. My point is that people would still smoke it if they were 'underage'.
Now I understand that with proper investment the negative properties of cannabis could be easily reduced and this is great, but would the 'dealers' stop selling their cannabis? I'm sure the country would slap on high taxes and sell it quite high so it would still leave the dealers with that window to sell...
There will always be good points, bad points and mixed opinions on this topic - I will consider most opinions and maybe one-day I will change my mind.
Thanks for reading and I hope you understand where I am coming from, F.
